So the other Southland thread had seen it's demise a long time ago so it's time for a new one!

TNT made the smart choice renewing Southland for a third season ordering 10 episodes to begin January 2011.

The suspense is finally over for fans of "Southland". TNT announced that it will renew the police drama for a third season. Fans were left hanging as to whether the second season finale would be end of the series. "Southland" stars Kevin Alejandro, Regina King, Michael Cudlitz and Ben McKenzie. It follows the patrol officers, homicide detectives and the gang unit of the LAPD.

NBC cancelled "Southland" in October, weeks before its scheduled premiere citing its “Dark” content. Fans of the show rallied on the internet to save it. TNT stepped in and began airing season one January and the unaired episodes of Season two in March. "Southland" has gained a large following despite its move from network television to cable. It’s not surprising viewers have taken to the show the way they have. "Southland" is written with such complexity that’s not typical of most police dramas. People can relate to these characters and stories because they are not generic. The story doesn’t end when the bad guys are arrested.
"Southland" will return to TNT for its third season in January 2011 with 10 episodes. Atlanta based TNT announced earlier this year plans to aggressively expand its original programming. The network will add three new shows to its current roster dramas. These new shows will star familiar actors such as Noah Wyle (ER), Sasha Alexander (NCIS), Alfre Woodard (Desperate Housewives, Three Rivers) and Angie Harmon (Law & Order). TNT has positioned itself as a destination for popular dramas with the acquisition of shows like “Southland,” “Bones” and “The Mentalist”.
