Are there any commercials that force you to change the channel?

The one that bothers me is that anti-smoking commercial that starts with the young girl looking into a mirror and a raspy voice narrating about her ambitions as a child or whatever. Every time I saw the commercial start up, I'd quickly change the channel because I'm easily disturbed and knew that they were going to show something I'd prefer not to see at the end.

One time I was watching TV with my friends so I was pretty much forced to sit through it, and didn't want to turn away and look weird. So naturally, the end comes and you see the horrible looking lady with the hole in her throat. To this day, the commercial is still on way too much for my liking, and every time I'm sure to change the channel within the first few seconds. I just don't like having to watch things like that as it disturbs me deeply, partially because I'm an ex-smoker myself and I guess that I'm just sensitive to the matter.

Sooo, are there any commercials that you guys cannot sit through?

That Baby whooping cough commercial.
Can't stand the sound of the baby gasping for air.
I have to mute the sound. meh

Yes, both of those commercials. Along with the Sara McLachlan one for abandoned animals.

And any Lady gaGa one. She is not allowed on my TV!

the abused animal commercials are about it...I leave the room.

raspy voice does not bother me. I don't agree with the message and have debated it before. Yes, it's a good sacare tactic, but maybe her mother should have kept the smokes out of reach of her child. That is not being preyed on when smoking is a choice. You made a bad choice and it had a very negative impact on your life. Accept it and move on, stop laying blame.

I grew up in the era of candy cigarettes. I played with them all the time. I was around smoking all the time. I do not smoke. It's a choice.

O.K. I HATE that King Kong 3-D commercial.
Someone yelling for 30 seconds especially when most t.v. show audio levels are lower and commercial audio levels are higher. I dive for that mute button!
Then curse Universal Studios for putting out such an annoying commercial.

And I'm over the whole computer morphing thing and 3-D in general.
Can I have my giant animatronic ape back?

And another thing....damn kids get off my lawn!

I'm with you! I don't like the new King Kong thing.

TiVo has done wonders for making commercials less annoying. Record everything and fast-forward through 'em! That said, some of them remind me it's time to hit the button more than others. There's a car sales commercial with an old guy, Cal something, that is like nails on a chalkboard. The Sara McLachlan commercial. Yeah, don't need to see it. We do donate to Basset Rescue and all our pets are rescues. Doing what we can.

The loud ones advertising for lawyers looking to file medical malpractice. Actually, any of them that are loud are significantly annoying. It's very jarring to watch my program and have the volume on the commercial to be blown out.

As mentioned above, those ASPCA ads are just so shameless. I'm a cat owner, but even looking at those poor dogs, I can't help but get emotional. The cynical side of me wonders how the ASPCA got that footage (and what they've done to help out those animals), but there's no question that commercial is the wrong kind of sentimental.

-The Taco Bell 'Triple Steak'
-The McDonald's 'hand dancing' ad for mocha coffee
-The State Farm 'jingle' ads are really starting to get on my nerves

That's just to name a few....

That is one and another one is that Kit Kat comercial where you hear that load chopping. I always turn my sound down to that one or when they show people eating what ever they are selling for the month at Carls Jr. Again I can't stand that smacking noise.

i agree with those who mention the ASPCA commercials. while sad, they're just way too long. that and the St. Jude Hospital commercials are like 45 minutes each.

i can't stand Arby's commercials because their "it's good mood foooood!" jingle is so annoying!

Carl's Jr. doesn't really make commercials like before, but i haaattteeed them!! you know, people biting into a burger, making loud chewing and swallowing noises. i can't stand those noises, so i always used to mute those.

commercials i WOULD love to see more of.... The Capital One vikings, they're so awesome, lol!

Hehehe... I'm with you on the Capital One Viking ads. I love the one where they are at the Washington, DC museum and the little kid thinks they're an exhibit. The Viking looks down and says "Hi there" and the kid runs away screaming.

And the little kid Viking has a beard. Awesome.

Sadly, I actually like those commercials.

If there is one commercial I couldn't stand from a few years ago is those annoying Old Navy commercials. Please stop with those.
