Just finished watching the first story of the BBC crime drama Sherlock.
Wow, I'm already hooked on this one.

    Sherlock
is a contemporary update of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes detective stories.
The stories are written by Steven Moffat, who is also the current executive producer of Doctor Who.

Check this one out if you get the chance. I highly recommend it.

My hubby has got me into watching the second season of Downton Abbey.
Maggie Smith is my favorite character of the show.

I also watched the second story of Sherlock.
    Love this show!

Moriarty is slowly starting to be revealed.

Hawaii Five-O (the new one). It's not great TV by any means, the plot lines and writing are often kind of dumb, but the truth is I've watched every episode because it can be exciting at times in an empty thrill kind of way and I just enjoy seeing Hawaii every week. But every once in a while there can be a really good episode like the chase episode last season with Chin Ho and the prosecution witness, and the most recent 2 episodes I just caught on hulu this week were really well done, one of them very intense (murder on an airplane) and the other, despite some big plot holes, otherwise had a well told story (murder at the governor's fundraiser). I really hope this means they are stepping things up on the show.

Finished watching the second season of Downton Abbey.
My favorite character would have to be The Right Honourable Violet Crawley, Countess of Grantham.
She has the best one liners in the show.
And can give a look that can take down anybody while still looking noble. Go get'em Maggie Smith!

    Here's a taste.

I just saw the latest episode. OK episode, but I guess I was getting my hopes up too much. Oh well, I still like it a lot.

Wife loves Ricky Gervais based on The Office, so we Netflix'd the 1st disc of Extras the other day. Wow, I never knew Kate Winslet could be SO FUNNY! Her role in episode 3 just totally caught me by surprise. Somehow I'd like to think she's like that in real life. Seriously, I think this may be my new favorite performance by her. By contrast, Ben Stiller in episode 1 probably should have been funny but I just found his performance off. Wife wasn't too into the show, not sure when we'll get to the 2nd disc.

"Fairly Legal" new episode. Love that show.

Glee Season 2 - Owned the blu-ray set forever but only just this week started to watch it. Started watching the first episode and find it hard to watch just one at a time. Over three nights I've watched twelve episodes, just ten more to go. So glad I finally made time to see them and I'm grateful none of my friends have spoiled any details. I think once I finish this set, I'll go back and re-watch season one again.

Got caught up on the first 3 seasons of Breaking Bad on Netflix. Can't wait for the 4th season to be released in June so I can be fully caught up. It's such a great show. I have to say, it really is the best show on TV. So perfectly acted, written, etc.

So since I'm fully caught up on that I figured I'd start with another show I'd been putting off, Mad Men. Watched the first episode yesterday and I have to admit, I wasn't really "feeling" it. I'm hoping I will after a few more episodes in.

Finally caught the season finale of Alcatraz. It's a decent show, but hasn't really quite found it's legs yet I think. Some of the reveals in these two episodes didn't really have those "OMG!" moments like Lost, Fringe, or Alias. Also, while I like Sarah Jones, the fact is that after a short 13 episode first season, [SPOILER] I'm honestly not so invested in the character yet that it was such a huge deal her character died at the end. While her death may end up playing a big part in season 2 (assuming the show is not cancelled), I think as a cliffhanger it was somewhat of a misfire [END]. As I write, I'm starting to think there might not be as much potential for this show as with Fringe. While both shows have the element of a larger sci-fi backstory that is slowly revealed throughout each show, Fringe has the benefit that the procedural parts are also sci-fi based as they track sometimes literal monsters, while the Alcatraz team tracks - relatively speaking of course - "normal" killers. We'll see I guess.

Just watched the Survivor finale last night. I was really upset about the winner. I found her to be entirely two-faced and way too smug.
