It's been a long, long time since the Star Wars Holiday Special. By now I'm sure they'll get the concept of "Star Wars on TV" right. ...or better.

From what I heard, the scripts were all written, just waiting for technology to allow for the budget so as not to relive the losses lucasfilm took shooting the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles

I say tone down the amount of effects to make the films and it could work.
If the scripts are good, the show can be written in a way that it can be more story driven than special effect driven.
