On Sept. 24, NBC's Heroes premiere night, viewers will have
the chance to win a car signed by creator Tim Kring.

    NBC, Nissan to Launch Heroes
    Premiere Week Car Giveaway Promo

    John Consoli
    Mediaweek
    SEPTEMBER 20, 2007 -

NBC and Nissan have extended their partnership in launching the network's hit drama series Heroes with a multiplatform, interactive promotion that will encompass all five nights of NBC's premiere week, Sept. 24-28. Each night NBC will give away a 2008 special collector's edition of the Nissan Rogue SL, signed by Heroes creator Tim Kring.

At 8 p.m. on Sept. 24, the night Heroes premieres at 9, NBC will air an alert to viewers of their chance to win, as the car moves as part of a snipe across the screen. During Heroes, viewers will watch for a pod buster commercial which will introduce a trivia question about the show. Similar spots will run during The Biggest Loser on Sept. 25, Bionic Woman on Sept. 26, The Office on Sept. 27 and Las Vegas on Sept. 28. Viewers will then be instructed to go online to nbc.com/nissan to answer the question and enter for a chance to win the car. Five cars will be given away.

The giveaway will be promoted in on-air spots throughout the week and also in print ads and radio spots.

Each pod buster will immediately be followed by a Nissan commercial. Nissan is also sponsoring the premiere episode of Heroes and the show will have limited commercial breaks. And, the Rogue will be featured in the premiere episode.

"Giving away a car each night during premiere week also revs up the excitement for our new fall lineup." said John Miller, chief marketing officer, NBC Universal Television Group.

    Dougherty, Roth writing 'Origins' episodes

    By Nellie Andreeva
    The Hollywood Reporter
    Sept 22, 2007

"Heroes: Origins" is beefing up its creative roster with top behind-the-scenes talent.

"Superman Returns" co-writer Michael Dougherty and "Hostel" writer-director Eli Roth have each been tapped to write an episode of the anthology spinoff from NBC's hit sci-fi series.

Roth will also direct his episode, which introduces new characters as they discover their extraordinary powers.

Roth and Dougherty, both "Heroes" fans, join another big supporter of the show, Kevin Smith, who was previously set to write and direct an episode of the Universal Media Studios-produced "Heroes: Origins."

Dougherty, who also co-wrote "X2," recently made his directorial debut with the upcoming Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures horror movie "Trick 'r Treat," which he also wrote.

Does it make me ultra dorky that I love the idea behind Origins? And I love that Kevin Smith is directing one?

Really great season opener. Lots of new questions asked, and the same combination of action and comedy that made the first one so amazing!

The trailer at the end for the entire season makes this season look AMAZING!

    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
