I watched game shows, Family Affair, Gidget, Gilligan's Island, Bewitched, and of course cartoons!! And of course mid-day, I had to watch my mom's soaps.:botox:

Those are the ones I remember most but there were plenty.
Of course, I had a "stay-at-home" mom and at some point in the day, the TV was turned to soap operas which I never allowed myself to be sucked into. At that point, I would read or sleep.
Those were all great shows. Thanks for the memories!
Press Your Luck, Price is Right, I Love Lucy, Dukes of Hazzard.... and Mtv (back in its heyday when they still showed videos and the music didn't suck).
I don't know why, but, seeing some of the show clips made me feel like crying! I think it's because it was from a much happier time in my childhood...prior to my mom's death, when I was 9.

I grew up with so many classic TV shows of the 50s, 60s, and 70s that I can't even recall them all, but most of the ones that have been mentioned so far are ones I enjoyed. Modern daytime TV is so stale in comparison to the way it used to be. The few independent TV stations that are left do sometimes have a good selection of classics, though.
I agree TDF, you can't even find re-runs of Gilligans Island anymore. They are too busy showing shows like Becker and King of Queens. WTH is up with that? My kids need to know the greatness of Gilligan and why not even the Harlem Globetrotters and astronauts could save them. :)

As for today's stay-at-home for sickness, there really isn't much to view there on the over-the-air channels. Court shows, Jerry Springer, Maury ("You are not the father!"), no kids shows during the daytime hours...man, it really sucks.
Nowadays, I'd rather be on the interwebs than watch what's on over-the-air these days or head to the library and borrow a good video/DVD or book.
