I HATE people who do that. It's so obnoxious. The only way I can watch Giada is with the sound turned off.

And the buff Birtish guy would be Robert Irvine. He does Dinner Impossible (I think that's what it's called). That's a fun show sometimes, but I can't believe that some of these functions are willing to take the chance of the mission not being successful.

Of course, the same would apply to Giada. If she'd cook with her shirt off she'd be watchable.

Re: What Food Network shows do you watch?

I started a thread like this a few months back. It's great tohave a new one so we can all see everyone's favorite shows or personalities!

I personally love Alton Brown. If I were a girl, I would marry him. Good Eats is by far the best Food Network show created. Festing on Asphalt is also great. Science + food + humor = awesome show!!
One of the funniest things Alton has said was "Food + heat = cooking!"

When it was aired, Mario Eats Italy was the funniest Food Network show. However, you have to have understood the language in order to appreciate the humor fully.

I have been to a couple of recordings of Emeril Live and the show doesn't really pull me in as much as it did when it first began. 10 years of Emeril's personality has gotten a bit stale for me.

Another great show was the original Grillin' and Chillin' starring Bobby Flay and his partner Jack. They always used to fight over which grilling method was better; charcoal or gas. Charcoal wins for me.
Now, Bobby is just an arrogant looser in my opinion.

I love that show! Even my kids will watch it with me. We all cover our eyes when he eats something truly disgusting.

Ohhh I've watched this a couple of times recently, it was cool!

Not a Giada fan either, I can't stand the way she has to foodgasm everything.

Mr. Dkat says she uses words to make her show sound like soft porn and that is why all the guys like her and her show.

Ick, her face is so weird, I don't get the appeal.

I like Sandra Lee's show concept. She can drive me a little nuts with the "lots of flay-vor" and the "Soooooo delicious!" and the "it'll be some [insert dish of the day here]."

Her tablescapes are a little over the top. All the money you save by cooking semi-homemade is wasted on those tablescapes.

    Cocktail time is awesome, too!

I've tried a few recipes from her show and they're really good! I like the concept of combining store bought items with fresh ingredients. We pretty much do that anyway, but it's nice to add recipes to our routine.

We're trying her Chinese ribs this weekend in the slow cooker.
"But every night, when it gets dark
    and the stars come out,
I'll look up on her behalf.
I'll look up in the sky and think of you."

Sandra has great food ideas......but I can't get over how her clothes match her kitchen appliances, her curtains, her tablescapes, etc......who has place cards at every friggin dinner? Why do you need a seating arrangement and party favor for your friends??? I don't know. Perhaps I am a horrible entertainer???

I think that Tyler Florence and Food 911 is genius. He sure has a great knowledge of cooking styles. But by far the most underrated and best cook on FoodTV is Sarah Moulton. Her ability to take a vague description of an ancient family recipe and make a dish that is just like great grandma used to make, or her answers on the fly durin her call in show, make her super culinary smart in my humble opinion.

Never could stand Emeril, and I really used to love Alton Brown, but he gets boring after a while, sorry.

I totally agree with you. Although, some of her holiday decoration ideas are really cute!
