    Your favorite Twilight Zone episode

For me it's a tie between "Will the real Martian please stand up" and "To Serve Man". I absolutely love this show and I've been watching it my whole life. I can even almost recite each show word for word. I have the whole collection and I watch Sci-Fi all the time when they play it. Anyways, what's your favorite episode? If you can't think of the name, explain the story and I should be able to name it.

The one where the little banker never has enough time to read books. After an atomic bomb that he survives, he has the time and books to read forever.

Then he bends over, his glasses break, and he can't see well enough to read.

Moral of the story: Don't bend over.

"Little Lost Girl" and "I sing the Body Electric". Also "Sounds Of Silence" is one of my favorites.
Ooh and "The 7th is made up of phantoms" Is a good one too. It was interesting watching that one after reading Little Big Man.

Body Electric is an excellent choice.

But my two would have to be the Christmas episode with Art Carney and Obsolete, with Burgess Meridith (where he is the librarian who is sentenced to die)

My favorite is the Gremlin episode with William Shatner. That cheesy gremlin suit scared the HELL out of me when I was young!

Time Enough at Last. Great episode.

"My favorite is the Gremlin episode with William Shatner."

Nightmare at 20,000 feet. Another classic.

I simply can't get enough TZ. This morning it was on for 4 hours on Sci-fi and I watched it. Not only that but I had another tv down next to my pc hooked up to my PS2 and I was watching TZ on it too.

The one where the guy ends up in a monistary somewhere and they take him only if he promises not to release "The Screaming Man". He does. Turns out it's the devil. Also the Monsters on Maple Street and To Serve Man. I read than book years before it came out and it was pretty scary.

If you want a real scare, read the book "The Day The Earth Stood Still" was based on. The end of that is totally different than the movie and it's a scary as it gets.

Re: Your favorite Twilight Zone episode

I used to watch Twilight Zone all the time!
    My favorite was "The Masks".
It was the very first episode I ever saw. My uncle let me stay up late to see it (the show was on at 11:00 and I was 8). I figured out the ending half way through the episode and was thrilled when I was right.
But "To Serve Man" and the one where Agnes Moorehead is trying to defeat "little robots" also have great endings.

Re: Your favorite Twilight Zone episode

AH, this thread is right up my alley. For those of you on MiceChat gold there is a Twilight Zone fan club.

My favorite episode was "To Serve Man", followed closely by "Time Enough at Last". Burgess Meridith has to be the best on Twilight Zone episode. Time Enough at Last was voted the best TZ episode ever by TZ fans. Meridith was also in "Obsolete Man" which I consider to be a top 10 episode. The 3rd episode Meridith was in was "Printer's Devil", a fantastic one hour episode. The 4th and final one Burgess was in was "Mr. Dingle the Strong", certainly the worst of the 4 he was in.

Another great TZ actor was Jack Klugman and child actor Billy Mumy.

Here's some other awesome episodes that deserve a ton of Merit:
    The Invaders
    Night of the Meek
    NightMare at 20,000 feet
    Long Distance Call
    The Hitch Hiker
    It's a good life
The After hours (the silver thimble in that episode is in TOT at DCA)
    One for the Angels
    The Midnight sun
    Night Call
    The Eye of the Beholder

My daughter and I have been watching every episode, we've seen about 80% of them together. Something I will cherish forever.

And here my 2 favorite underated episodes:
    Dust
    Mr. Denton on Doomsday.

Any other TZone freaks out there?

I don't recall the episodes by name, but I remember the plot:

The one with Donna Douglas where she was beautiful and wanted to have plastic surgery in order to get an ugly, contorted face - as it was the norm.

The one where everyone was cloned and wore their name on their chest.

The one where the earth had been bumped out of the solar system and a people were evacuating the extreme rising temperatures of New York City...except for this one couple of people.....who just lived through the torturous heat

The one with Ann Jillian as a child - named Ilsa or Elsa...and she kept hearing that name in her head.

So many others that I can't even think of.....

    Hey David!

The first one you speak of is Eye of the Beholder, great ending! The second one is "Midnight Sun" where the lead actress was HOT, literally and figuatively. The third one is called Mute. Another hour long episode that deals with mental telepathy and a girl that only communicated with it.

The one with the clones and their name on their chest doesn't ring a bell.

Back to my one of my favs "Time Enough at Last", this one considered the best ever is also discussed as a one of a kind. Most TZ theme have to do with people getting their "Come uppins" this is one of the few episodes where the lead man was a good guy, kind to all and got the cruelest punishments in the end.

I do have all the TZones on DVD so if you're dying to see one, give me a holler Dave!
