    Oh that is just creepy!

I grew up in the NW so I didn't have the "fortune" of seeing that show. We did have Bumpity though. http://www.bumpityreturns.com/

Re: Who here is old enough to remember this show?

Me! I used to watch her every afternoon. She started lcally on KTTV Channel 11, and later was nationally syndicated.

I believe the lady who played "Hobo" was named Sally Baker, who was very talented . From LAtvlegends.com, a great site just like TV Party above..,

Sally Baker (married to another broadcasting original; Walt Baker) was truly a pioneer for women in broadcasting by producing, writing and starring in her own show on a daily basis. One of the first women in television to really control the content of her show and what went out to the kids, her husband Walt Baker was the director on the show making it a truly family affair.
In a sea of cowboys and skippers, came her lovable character of Hobo Kelly, a stand out from the start.
Many will remember her huge toy machine that she would fill with junk and then miraculously as she cranked it the junk would turn into fantastic toys to be given to a lucky mischief maker from her viewing audience pulled at random from a large turning tub.

I remember all that. Yes, I was a mischief maker". And she'd take out her looking glass, and say the names of kids all over the area...who knew?

    Thanks, TJ, for the memory.

I'm old enough, but didn't dig it enough. Those teeth = me twisting the dial.

    Remember twisting dials?

Re: Who here is old enough to remember this show?

When Hobo Kelly was on I was a bit too old for her show being a young teen at the time but Sheriff John, now that's another story. He was on in the 50's and was a favorite of mine along with Engineer Bill (that was the only way I would drink milk - red light, green light). My elementary school was just up the street from my home and I went home for lunch every day and ate it while watching Sheriff John. My other favorite shows? Why, the Mickey Mouse Club (of course) and then later Soupy Sales.

Since we seem to be entering a time machine, I thought I would add this clip of Mister Rogers. This was made after the show was over and before he died. Sort of a last message to all that watched him as a kid. I always find this a bit touching. I just adored him when I was little.

I have a vague memory of Hobo Kelly. I remember looking forward to watching her when I was little. She used to pull toys or prizes out of the mouth of a big face thing.

My goodness! Yes! We had a color TV downstairs and a black and white upstairs - both twisty dials - Remember Dad telling you to change the channel and you had to go through each channel until he found something he liked??? When my Dad did that we all ran from the room and the last one out had to go back in -

We had Hobo Kelly, Romper Room, Bozo the Clown - of course I show my daughter and she tells me 'I understand, you didn't have much back then, it's okay Mom' LOLOLOL

I remember our first remote control - the big black thing - we only had I think 15 channels and the remote only went up and down on the channels
