They need an MTV Classic channel that airs the original programming from like 1981 to maybe 1990-1992. I miss the old days with the original VJs. It was all so new back then and nobody knew what was going to happen. It was totally spontaneous.

I sometimes watch that "Sweet 16" show, but watching these kids get whatever they want and just be ungrateful at 16 years old just gets on my nerves.
I used to love that they had a mix of videos, reality, and animation shows. That is how I found out about Aeon Flux.
Now it is just reality and that gets old fast since they seem to stoop down to a low level.
Aeon Flux - I used to watch that too - never understood it, but thought it was pretty cool.
Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!
I'm too old for MTV and I'm 20.
Then again, I preferred Much Music USA.
Dear MTV,
The "M" in your moniker is supposed to stand for MUSIC. Please get your collective heads out of your rear ends and fix this problem.
Sincerely,
An "old fart" who remembers the good old days
Exactly...I am 20 and I like Americas Next Top Model...WHEN IT IS NEW ON THE CW! I can only watch Dani win so many times. And I admit I like shows like The Hills, but Tila Tequila, and I Love New York are complete trash!!! (and this is coming from their "target" age group)
I don't even think it's an 'age' thing anymore, as it is more of an 'intellegince' thing. I've seen some of the junk on that station - and an INSULT to my intelligence it is. I took MTV out of my channel rotation.
Even though mtv has changed. I still watch it. I like the dating where parents meet the girlfriend or boyfriend which is fun to watch.
oh daria she was so awesome. beavis and butt head would tease her with diarrhea.
It seems to be the case with so many cable networks over the years. They start out as one thing - remember when TLC was The Learning Channel, A & E meant Arts and Entertainment, etc. They often times stray way too far from their roots. MTV is obviously a case of this.

Thank you POISONEDAPPLES!
MTV lost me a long time ago. Once they started cutting the music videos down to just clips I stopped watching. The only MTV channel I watch is "Tres" because it actually shows Music videos. And I agree with what someone said earlier about watching the 100 Videos countdown. It was always cool seeing "Who would be #1!!"
Out of the NIGHT....
