    Dark Shadows

I heard this on the radio today.

On this date in 1966, the series Dark Shadows began on television.

I remember watching this program. I remember the voice of Victoria Winters, and Barnabas Collins. I especially remember Maggie Evans, who was the image of Josette. Barnabas, who was a vampire, was determined to live forever with the love of his life, Josette.

Then there was the witch who turned Barnabas into a vampire. The lovely Angeligue. I apologize if I spelled that wrong. She was played by Lara Parker.

Dark Shadows was only on the air for about 5 years.

I was home raising my children when this was first on. It was definitely not your average Soap Opera.

I loved, loved, loved this show. I had just graduated from high school and was home that summer and watched it every day.

I was a toddler when the show began but my older sisters used to watch it after school and I still remember it, well, at least parts of it. It was so cool. Barnabas Collins was my first vampire.

My mom used to watch it and loved it. I still remember some lead actress was being hypnotized by a psychiatrist to do something bad and after that I was always leary of hypnotism.

    Re: Dark Shadows

It was before my time but I absolutely loved the new one that came out a few (decades) ago.
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
