Free Valet Parking Ends For DVC members

"Disney Vacation Club Member Services is reporting that members are no longer eligible to receive free valet parking at Walt Disney World resorts. Effective Sunday October 11, 2009, DVC members using valet parking services will be charged a fee of $12 per day."

What do you fellow DVC members think of this? I dont use it very often, but to me it seems like Disney is just trying to find another small way to stick it to its most loyal guests.

It's about time DVC started paying. DVC members may be the most loyal, but they are also the rudest to the castmembers, especially to the valets. Besides getting free parking they also felt the need not to tip these por guys.

Free valet parking was a plus that helped convince us to get DVC so it is kinda is disappointing they are taking it away. We never got to use it LOL Does anyone know why? Is it just to make more money?

I'm going to miss it . I hope that we get a refund on the dues.
The Dues Pay for Transportation, building, Parking park and resort, service.

Don't think there is a refund, as valet parking was listed as a perk, wasn't it? What is paid by the dues is probably the maintenance of the parking lot at the DVC locations and to get free parking at the parks.

While it was a neat treat to use valet parking at the Grand Floridian when we had dinner at V&A's, it's not something I will miss as a DVC member.

Yes valet parking was part of the Dues.

the valet was only for DVC resort.
But once you get the pass then you can goto any WDW resort Valet parking.

Complimentary valet parking for Disney Vacation Club Members at Disney Vacation Club Resorts at the Walt Disney World® Resort was discontinued effective October 11, 2009.
Similar to other fee-based services, such as additional housekeeping service or additional room amenities, only those Members who choose to valet park will be charged, instead of increasing the annual dues for all Members to cover the costs.
Self parking will continue to be complimentary at all Disney Vacation Club resorts. For drivers choosing to use the valet service, the cost is $12 a day, effective October 11, 2009. Members and Guests with disabilities will continue to receive complimentary valet parking.
Once paid, the valet parking service can be used for the entire day at any resort without paying the fee again.

At least self park is still free! I must admit, if I was a DVC owner... I'd be PO'd about this; I would consider it a real downgrade in benefits.
