BLT Help please hurry -going 1-9-10!

We are going down to BLT next Sat 1-9-10 and staying in a 3 bedroom grand villa (we are not loaded we have saved, banked and borrowed our 160 points) to have a vacation of a lifetime. We are arriving at Orlando at 130 pm and will probably be at BLT at about 3pm.
Regular booking at BLT the bay lake view is $1755-night-and through alot of searching have seen on the regular accomodations site that the Magic Kingdom View $1635 -night is actually a cheaper priced room for the time we are going.
We are using 424 points compared to 516 for the Magic Kingdom view.
My questions are:
1. Is there any way of getting the Magic Kingdom View 3BRGV at the time of check in ?
2. Will I be hurting my chances if I do online check-in ?
3. We have heard from the DVC member services that no one books the 3 bedroom GV's, can I ask at the contemporary check in to upgrade us ?
4. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am going crazy it is one week away!!!! I can't wait to get there it has been two years and feels like 10 .

Did you pay with Cash or Point?
If you did with point I would Call DVC Service and do the change and use more points.
If you pay in cash for it (maybe) work at Check-in?

Most time I do one bedroom and did do upgrades.

We are using points. I just didn't know if there was any way of upgrading at the desk via gratuity or if I would be shooting myself in the foot by online registration. We have saved banked and borrowed our points and are exactly at 424 with no points left.

Call Member Services and ask if any Grand Villas with MK view are still available for your dates. If they're all booked, go ahead and check in online. If there are some still available, don't check in online; ask if you can have a free upgrade at the desk when you get there; it doesn't hurt to ask!

I just got back from a trip to BLT Dec 18. We had a dedicated 2BR with MK view and it is SO WORTH IT! I had to book in April to get it; BLT is a popular destination resort.
