Is DVC good for me even if I only go about once every two years?

My family and I only go about once every two years, and I was wondering if it is even worth trying if we only go once every two years. Thanks!

    here something think about,
What type of room you stay in every two year?
    How long you stay?

You all way get points evey year and can bank for the next year, but need use all the DVC points that year.

Long run you may save money.

You do not need stay at WDW every year.
Where do you on the off year?
Where you go on the off year is there a time shared Resort there?

If stay Deluxe and about week or more I would say Yes
some time shared Resort (NOT DVC) you will need stay a week.

I have heard of a number of people who do this. They buy like 150 points (the minimum I believe) then bank every other year, and go for a week and get like a one bedroom (Master BR with a king bed, and a sofa bed in the livingroom) They allow up to 4 peoplw in a one BR. Or, if you have more people or want to stay longer, yo0u could buy few more points amd get enough for a longer stay or maybe a two bedroom unit.

Lots of choices. The reason I recommend the one or two bedroom units is:

    1. More space for everyone to move around.
    2. Full kitchen.
    3. Washer and dryer in unit.

We've been members since 1994, and when my wife and I go (we've been going alone since 1998) we always get a one BR, for reasons 1,2, and 3.

    Good luck with your decision.,

Thanks. I'll consider those questions before I do anything!

Going every other year cuts the amount of points you need to purchase by half. If a unit requires 100 points for a week, then you would buy a 50 point contract and use it every 2 years. If you use your ownership every 3 years, using banked points, current years points and borrowed points, then you cut your needs to purchase by a third. This is a great way to get an affordable ownership. Kinn
