![]() | Is this something for people who are still young? I'm in my early 20's, and I'm very curious about this DVC thing. I first heard about it years ago (when I was in 8th grade), when I went to Walt Disney World and my parents were going to purchase DVC, but then decided against it for some reason or another. I don't have the money right now, obviously, but in a few years I probably will and I'm just wondering if its something I should consider. I love going to Disneyland (I get annual passes every year). And I want to go back to Walt Disney World, once I have the money. Plus I'd love to try Disney Cruises, and Tokyo Disney. Thanks for your time! |

He can give you a breakdown of current owner privileges such as ticket discounts, pool hopping, etc that can add to your Disney experience! Plus, you have the ability to purchase a very small point allotment via resale- which can give you all the owner perks and still allow you to stay at a DVC resort every few years by banking/borrowing/etc- but doesn't require a big financial commitment to start! |

![]() | Re: Is this something for people who are still young? Is this something for people who are still young? That is exactly who the DVC plan is for. People who plan to go to Disney for years to come. Rikkis_playpen is right, you can purchase a "starter" ownership on resale and use your points up to every three years. So, a 50 point purchase would be 150 points to use every three years. You can add more points as your family needs expand. The DVC program is very flexible. Kinn

![]() | Re: Is this something for people who are still young? I wish that we had bought into it when we went to Disney World back in 1997 for the first time. Of course they wern't promoting it, then, the way they are now. I am also not sure exactly how long it has been around. I know that I would have saved a lot of money on hotel rooms. |

![]() | Re: Is this something for people who are still young? Can you use points to get things like park tickets? I've heard you can use them for the Cruise, is that true as well? I just want to justify spending the money |

![]() | Re: Is this something for people who are still young? The best use for DVC points is for accomodations at a DVC resort or for adults on the cruise, pay cash for children.

You don't want DVC to be a stressful bill you're worried about. Once you're settled and have your career situation worked out, DVC is a great way to ensure you get to take a vacation every year and take a break from all your hard work! Quote:
Thanks for that tip. We're looking into the cruise using our points now. I was figuring cash for the Pixie Kid would be best, but it helps hearing it from a pro.

![]() | Re: Is this something for people who are still young? I just bought in myself. One of my first questions is what to do in 30 or so years. I bought points in Saratoga Springs and it runds out when I'm about 84 or so. But apparently its relatively easy to pass to an immediate family member, so my kids now 6 and 4 will get the points at some point.

You can put their names on the property when they turn 18. That way they can make reservations and receive owners perks . Then if somthing happens to you, there are no legal issues or arguments, or things like that. My kids will be on mine when they are old enough. -dave

Maybe this an idea Disney should consider. The cruise is based on points per person per length of cruise (and includes all food and drink except alcohol). Disney reckon that an average of 7 vacations and the scheme has paid for itself. Also remember there are annual dues for maintenance etc based on the level of points you buy in at. We have 350 points -home resort Saratoga Springs. Annual dues currently for us are $1400 Last edited by geoffa; 07-02-2008 at 10:15 AM.

For Disney to sale people the concept on DVC At (Disney Vacation Club Recort Now call Old Key west) The number of park tickets was base on half of number of people can stay in a bedroom. let said Two Bedroom You would receive four WDW park Tickets. The park tickets idea stop at the end of Year 2000. Disney now have DVC member to help sale this idea on time share. One thing we all forgot to add! You can use your DVC points on most time shair location in the world. soon DVC in Hawaii islands Yes most use there points at WDW

Yes - we've had two great vacations in Scotland using the conversion from DVC points to Interval International reservation points. We also know someone who took the Tanzanian safari and had a superb experience. It just depends on far you are willing to travel.
