I just want to the park to be itself for a bit, they don't have to have a reason to put on advert on the telly, ie. the 15th, just put an advert on the telly. Chances are it won't make a massive load of difference.
I don't want to mix up this thread with the new Duckburg one but please don't confuse Toon Town with Duckburg. I suggest reading some Carl Barks or Don Rosa comics which will point out that Duckburg is more like Main Street than Mickey's Toon Town Fair. Ducks (and dogs) may live there but please also remember that the stories of Scrooge's adventures were also a major influence on Lucas while writing the Indiana Jones movies. Duckburg could well be half Main Street, half Adventureland.

I'm not I swear, I know Duckburg bears no resemblance to Toon Town, it's the concept of a mini-land based on a specific set of characters stuck on the end of the park (as you say, it's all in the Duckburg discussion).

This sounds like a fun idea but, exactly what is the point/theme of it? Also, is this a hard ticket event or regular hours happening?

'Bling Bling'? 'Four-to-the-floor'? Oh dear. I haven't seen such desperate 'coolness' from the House of Mouse since the Totally Minnie days of the late '80s.
So basically it's the (re-branded) character express, some streetmosphere and extra characters plus Stars and Cars. A rehash of a two year 15th Anniversary celebration that insults the fact that everyone's favourite mouse will turn 80 in December.

Totally Minnie! They should totally bring that back.

But I agree, this celebration sounds awful. Nothing good has ever come out of a Disneyland Paris press report involving the phrase "party hardy" (or an equivalent). Let's just pray they don't hire a DJ again… We all remember the last time.

Sarcasm is so difficult to detect in the written word.

So when does this celebration begin? I am assuming it will be in April once the current one limps to a close in March although won't they need loads of time to facilitate the major changes that they will make to the Character Express between times?*

I wasn't being sarcastic — slightly ironic, maybe. Totally Minnie was a ridiculous train wreck, obviously, but in retrospect it's a hoot, don't you think? Just imagine how these current attempts to get jiggy with it will look in 20 years.

But yes, it sounds like they'll need lots of time to make the parks look "mousterrific!"

Re: Mickey's Magical party ,the new event

Despite all of the negative comments that I am throwing at this event, I must admit to being pleased that DLP are doing a celebration specifically based around Mickey (and presumably friends). Yes Mickey is a big presence in the parks and merchandising, but to have a 'party' for/about him is a nice gesture. After all, it did all start with a mouse. Shame its missing his birthday by several months though. I really hope that they are starting to plan his 100th now.
