HKDL : Done !!!
Whereas it was a silly idea to play them in Disneyland's Tomorrowland, they fit the theme of Discoveryland - it was a silly idea to remove them.

(VERY OLD!) TRIP REPORTS
Hi bopazot. Actually, the rocks have disappeared for quite a good reason - the Imagineers are going to install a large mural in the paving on the floor. It will be an image of a huge blue/violet comet, trailing from the new Buzz ride to the entrance of Discoveryland.
No word on when it will be complete, but it shouldn't take them too long. There are also large murals planned for Centre Court - the area between the two parks and the RER station.
Not to be a wise guy but if it's on the floor it can't technically be a mural, right?
But I do wonder how this will turn out.
You're probably right - so what's a floor-based mural? A mosaic, I suppose.

I guess it all depends on the material they'll use. It could be a mosaic, a terrazzo... But perhaps these are a bit of a tall order for debt-stricken DLRP.
So any rumours on the ones that will be in er, Centre Court?
Nothing too fancy, I don't think - basically long coloured swirls and ribbons, meandering from the entrance of one park to the other. Quite pretty though, in their own sweet way. The one problem I have with all this is that Discoveryland doesn't really NEED any of this decoration. I would much rather see some work going into the ground over at the studios. Anything to break up all that tarmac!
have you been to Discoveryland recently from the Hub it's like a Labyrinth OMG and also you have a good spot for pics on Orbitron .
Does Orbitron is soppose to be closed during that phase of the construction .
HKDL : Done !!!
No, Orbitron is staying open. You're right - it should give you a great view of the bulldozers! lol!
So they are adding ground effects (probably like they tried to do in HK) but are the rocks coming back?
