2012 New Water Attraction for Disneyland Paris !

Not to complicate things further, but Imagineering have seriously considered putting a flume ride into Adventureland, between Colonel Hathi's Pizza Outpost and Indiana Jones. From what I understand, they were weighing the pros and cons of the Frontierland and Adventureland sites. There's been no word since the financial crisis started to bite, however.

Some sport stadiums have roof that can be opened, the new Western Expedition Splash Indy Witch Mountain could be covered (with snow top for instance) during cold season. Warmer season April-October it is open. Also the final splash is controlled so you don't get (that) wet during winter season. And last the story changes some between summer and winter season because of dark ride / out door aspect.

Glad that you brought the attention of the thread back to Disneyland Paris. Don't know how we got sidetracked over to Tokyo Disneyland. Lest Tokyo Disneyland kidnaps Paris' coming water ride, let's keep talking about an all weather Western Splash River Mountain Expedition (see if you can say that quickly three times!).

Really? May I remind you of TDS' JTTCOTE, 20K, and Sindbad? Great revisions of Indy and TOT at the same park... Or how about TDL's Hunny Hunt?
Just to name a few of the latest e-ticket efforts not seen outside Japan.

Aaaaanyway, trying to bump this thread back on track... this time last year, it sounded like a flume ride of some description was moving out of the Blue Sky phase and towards reality, with both Frontierland and Adventureland in the picture as possible locations. Word was that this was NOT going to be a traditional Splash Mountain - now that either means a different ride system, or a re-branding of the existing ride, without Song Of The South.

It seems the global financial crisis has put the brakes on a lot of the expansion plans, but there's still a chance we could see this ride materialise in the not-too-distant future.

A new original idea would be amazing, and would restore some of my faith that the Imagineers can still produce quality attractions. As long as the ride isn't based on toons or any other animated character!

In all seriousness though, if the ride were to go into that area of Adventureland, I think The Jungle Book would be a natural choice of theme. It's a Disney classic that's still widely recognised and enjoyed, and it would be the first Jungle Book attraction in any Disney theme park (as far as I'm aware). Even plastering the characters over the existing Splash Mountain ride structure would be enough to get Disney fans jetting in from across the globe to give it a try. So keep your fingers crossed - this particular wish might still come true!

They did throw a Jungle Book-themed event a couple of years ago. (You know; they had that DJ over who finally brought the music of an Ibiza nightclub to Main Street USA.) So the movie was still on the radar recently. Maybe you two are really on to something here.

Although that does leave two questions; one, where will they get the flume ride system if the original manufacturer has gone out of business, and two, how will they make it weather-resistant?

I'll bet they build a Jungle Book ride around a store-bought raft ride. Sounds so Euro Disney.

I'm surprised that Disney hasn't created a Jungle Book themed attraction yet. It would make for a perfect dark ride. I'm thinking a big budget attraction with key songs included - like Little Mermaid coming to DCA.

HKDL... a gorgeous little park that puts DLP to shame in regards to cleanliness. The one park to watch.. it will grow to be a fabulous DL place to visit.
