    Debenhams DLP Offer

Follow this link for quite a good deal through Debenhams (spend 30 in store or online for 150 off a DLP break).

Debenhams: Department Store Online - Retailer for Clothing, Electrical, and Furniture Brands

This was also the first Mickey's Magical Party advertisment I have seen (in my local branch of Debenhams)

This is a good deal and would bring the cost of a stay closer to last year's level. I couldn't believe the size of the price hike for a high-season stay this year. All down to the value of the pound - the world's new comedy currency - I suppose.

The dates are wrong for me but I'll be on the lookout for other similar offers elsewhere.

Isn't it still cheaper to get an Annual Pass and book a hotel separately?

That would of course depend on which hotel you wanted (I assume you are referring to a non-Disney one) and how often you could visit to get the most out of your AP.
I still prefer to stay within the resort and sadly cannot visit often enough to justify the cost of an AP.

For one modest visit a year, a deal like this is probably cheaper overall. But add a day or so to your stay or throw in a tiny itsy bitsy second one that same year and it seems like you can't beat the Annual Pass. (A three day hopper: €134/94, a Fantasy Annual Pass: €129, even less with a variety of discounts.) And Disney hotels can be booked separately as well, so even then.

(Of course this is all just based on my lamentable math skills.)

Ah, how to survive the economy. Up next, reusing your coffee filters.

We usually visit just once a year, during the summer at the end of a holiday elsewhere in France. We occasionally visit at Christmas too, but try not to go too often to avoid it becoming stale for us.

I'l look into the annual passport option as we may go twice in 2009. Thanks for the suggestion.

Plus there's the thrill of having the turnstiles greet you with your name.

It's a pretty well-kept secret, I suppose, that you don't need to go every week (or, in some instances, more than once a year) for the thing to be your most affordable choice. Frankly I don't know why they don't charge more. Although the way they exclude it from all promotional material, you'd have to be pretty geeky to know it even exists.
