^Geez, that's just as ugly at the Drop Tower.
Well when you put it like that, I can almost justify Playland. It'll serve to somewhat ease the lines for Crush (in an ideal world).
Of course you could argue that any attraction could do that - especially if they'd been able to secure funds for something like Toy Story Mania.
So now the crucial question:
Is this eyesore visible from Frontierland?
i'd say NO because of the Forest but may Be from Big Thunder Mountain YES . I'll try to ride Big Thunder Mountain and take a picture from the top .
With the workers just aside , it seems huge ...
And as for if it is visible from BTM : everything is visible from BTM ....
This ugly thing is really huge and shouldn't be in a Disney themepark. It's a plain carnival ride and really not Disney standard. The whole TSPL shouldn't be in the WDS.
I know that WDS needs attractions for the smaller ones, there are just the Flying Carpets and Cars, but it would have been better to use the money for just one attraction that has the Disney standard.
WDS needs these attractions. I dont care what people say you cant call wds a theame park a land or section of a theame park.
^Well you can say that these attractions are the modern equivalent of Dumbo and Teacups - which are after all common or garden carnival rides.
Maybe its because they were designed on Walt's watch, I not sure, but some how they are forgiven for being the standard off the shelf type rides.
These Playland ones though, I can't see how you can excuse them for being off the shelf. They're so brazenly obvious.
This land entire purpose is to milk of TS3
Toy Story Playland is looking great! The RC Racer ride looks like an Intamin half-pipe ride, which are a lot of fun. Just because it doesn't have a big budget, show building, or AA's, doesn't mean it won't be a draw, or won't be a hit. Besides, from the concept art, this is the first real WDS "land" that seeks to immerse you in some theme other than walking around in a "Studio" setting. In my mind, it's a step in the right direction.
I'd rather see this than a Soarin' clone or something else. At least this is recognizable to kids, and will sell merchandise.
Here it is finaly, the original Concept art from the Disneyland Paris press department!!
And here is the Model in full size!
