It wasn't 'Making Memories' was it? 14 years later and that crumby song still haunts my dreams!
(Also while waiting in the pre-show area, we were positioned next to a woman with the worst B.O. I have ever encountered. Mrs Detroit spent half the time descreetly spraying her with Impulse! Happy days indeed)

Hey guys, Alain Littaye is back with a fantastic interview from Cafe Fantasia at the Disneyland Paris Hotel with WDI Imagineer Rick Rothschild who was part of the team that designed the original concept for Captain EO.

So despite what a certain wanna be Imagineer has been claiming in another thread Captain EO is scheduled to continue in Paris for up to two years. HISTA doesn't look like its coming back. Not sure what I make to the moving floor being re programmed for this show either!
Captain EO merchandise has hit the park. Picture from the Disney Central Plaza Facebook page. Welcome to Facebook
We tried desperately to see if there were any previews when we were there. Sadly there were not. Capt Eo was important to me when I was younger. I had the pleasure of going to the World Premiere all night long party in Anahiem and then the premier in DLP in 1992. Although it is corny and the animation has not aged well, I am still looking forward to seeing it on the big screen in 3D again.
HKDL : Done !!!
I'm looking forward to see what sort of merchandise Tokyo Disneyland will pull out for its release of Captain EO. Maybe they will have the plush toys. But the Captain EO stuff is a bit disapointing. I just don't want to walk around anywhere with Michael Jackson on my T Shirt. So I think I'll be giving it a miss.
By the way Captain EO is now open again in Disneyland Paris. Here is a video released from the Disneyland Paris YouTube page showing the fans turning up on day one of opening. http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=pHlonwdGkGo

wow now that is dedication, people in costumes and running in the theater to get a seat
Kristof over at http://www.photosmagiques.com/ has posted a detailed trip report from the first showing of Captain EO. Including Tom Fitzgerald's speech. Captain EO replaced HISTA (12 June 2010)
I am back from my trip to Disneyland Paris and I am working on sorting out my photos and will post a long report soon.
We saw Captain Eo on Monday (June 14). There wasn't a very big crowd and we walked right into the pre-show without a wait. The pre-show was a showing of the "making of Captain EO" video that I think was shown originally in California.
When we got into the theatre, I noticed that not even half of the seats were full. There were what I would assume to be things still from "Honey I shrunk the Audience" on the walls. (Big light bulbs).
The show itself was totally in English. I am not a big Michael Jackson fan, but I found Captain EO to be entertaining enough and typical Jackson for the time that he filmed it. My mom thought the floor moved around way too much, and I tend to agree. The movie seemed a little dated, but not nearly as much as I thought it would. I had never seen EO before (having just missed it at WDW in '86) and I am glad that we went.
Exiting the theatre, I saw more things on the wall that said stuff about "Imagination" which I again assume was left-over from "Honey." I am surprised that those things are still there. But hopefully they will be removed in time.
