Ahh, shucks Nathan you don't have to go on like that. And you didn't really upset me, but at a time when there are all these stories about teenagers hurting themselves because of online bullies we all need to be cautious with our words (I am no exception).

I thought about what you wrote, that I hadn't done my homework on the "namesake" and I found this quote from Walt: "You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you." And while that seems to be a little graphic, the core truth offers significant guidance to anyone that takes their craft seriously (I don't take it that seriously, OR DO I?!).

Just out of curiosity, which soundtrack do you prefer over at Space Mountain Paris: the current (Mission 2) or the original (De La Terre a la Lune)?

I know its not aimed at me directly, but I much prefer De la Terre a la Lune.

Again, not aimed at me, but the the first SM soundtrack was a true work of art bringing up so many emotions. Mission 2 is meh soundtrack.

They raped SM for Mission 2. A real mistake.

I concur with everyone else, the original Space Mountain soundtrack was FAR superior. And the ride as a whole.

Agreed the whole experience of De la Terre a la Lune was far superior. The one plus I will give Mission 2 however, I do love those red rings of light we nip through at the end.

I have to admit to never having ridden Mission 2 due to all of my visits since the change have been with NDJnr who was too small to ride (even though he desperately wanted to). But having heard about what they have done to it since I was last on (1996), I suspect I would side with the majority and say they should never have messed with a winning formula.

I'm in the same situation as you. Last I was on was in '02 and I can't fathom a grander experience than the original. I have the audio for Mission 2 and I think it's a good example of that Giacchino sound, but again I feel like it doesn't live up to Bramson's score.
