    Sickey Mickey

    In Cafe Mickey In the Sun (british newspaper) They have reported that Cafe mickey had contaminated Fish By health inspectors!

    This is pretty bad in my case..

    Cafe Mickey doesn't belong to Disney. The restaurant is part of Group Flo if I'm not mistaken. So technically it is not a Disney problem.

    Nevertheless Disneyland Paris needs a lot of help to bring back the magic.

    The way I read the story it was salmon that was delivered to the resort. So its neither the resort or the restaurant operators fault. They take the product in good faith that it meets all food standards.

    Such things happen very often, even in the best restaurants. Unfortunately it will come down to Disney and not to the provider of the salmon. DLRP needs everything instead of bad press.

    Actually...what they need is Oriental Land Company (operators of Tokyo Disney resort) to fix not only Disneyland Paris Resort, but also WDW and HKDL.. and in the process, teach those "Disney california" people how to run a magical Disney experience at their resorts.
    in regards to the situation at this particular resort.. the problem lies in that most of these eateries are not own nor operated by disney. Disney only offers the space in the parks for rent and other companies provide the services to guests... *disguised* as a Disney experience. So for every faux pas, it's Disney's reputation at stake. But Disney deserves it for being so cheap and outsourcing their park experiences to other companies.

    I do wonder what Disney have done to upset the british press.

    There is a big thing to note in this story even if you assume that the sun has reported it correctly, which is a masive assumption. It said that the salmon was "potentially contaminated". Note the "potentially" there. I doubt that the salmon in the kitchen was actually tested and found contaminated. More like there was an inspection at the supplier and traces found of bateria and the the health insectors then notified all potential customers. It is a pretty nasty illness so better safe than sorry.

    It a bit strange getting funny about the outsourcing of the resturants. Isn't TDL in effect one big outsouring of the disney brand. It is the quality of the oursourcing that is the issue and certainly when I last ate at the Steakhouse it was very nice food and good service. I had a good time at Cafe Mickey too (but I won't have a Character Breakfast there again but that is another story).

    You don't just outsource to save money. For example sometimes it is because the company has a better understanding of the local supplier chain. When Disney set up DLRP it made sense to deligate some things to companies that know the local market better.

    More bad press for DLRP. I wonder what disney will do to counter all of the negativity.

    Darn, why are there so many problems at DLP? It's the most unique Disney park in my opinion but all this stuff keeps happening.
