Why doesn't the Disney Parks Blog care about Disneyland Paris ?

It seems the Disney Parks Blog doesn't care about Disneyland Paris and his new nighttime spectacular, Disney Dreams!, the major piece of Disney news of the week! One can't find any article about it. To me, that's a shame, because Disneyland Paris is a Disney Resort. Moreover, Disneyland Paris is close to the United Kingdom and many DLP's guests come from the UK so that they speak English.

Disney snobbery. But saying that DLP does get few mentions now and then again. I am surprised like you that this major show didn't get a least one mention.

Re: Why doesn't the Disney Parks Blog care about Disneyland Paris ?

Disney Parks Blog focuses on the US parks. I don't recall ever seeing any content for any of the other parks (Perhaps on rare occasion).

You have to remember that Disney doesn't completely own its overseas parks. In the US Disney owns 100% of the parks. However in Paris Disney only holds about 39.79% of the Stock in the park. The other 60% is owned by the Saudi Prince Alwaleed (10%) and Shareholders (50.22%)

The Tokyo Disneyland is owned by the The Oriental Land Company which licenses the Disney name. (Interesting situation)

Hong Kong Disneyland is owned and operated by Hong Kong International Theme Parks.

Disney will only own 43% of the Shanghai Disneyland Resort. The other 57% will be owned by Shanghai Shendi Group.

So it makes sense for the Disney Parks Blog to only focus on the American parks and properties.

However, The Walt Disney Company (in)directly controls Disneyland Paris.

Disney Blogs is set up by the Disney compony, which own Disneyland and Disney World. It's targeted toward US guests, and, to an extent, advertising Disneyland Paris (heavily) could cause people to spend money THERE instead of at another stateside park, and thus, they would lose money.

But it doesn't cost anything to write an article for such an E-ticket. Disneyland Paris opens an E-ticket every 4 years while Disneyland Resort opens an E-ticket once a year! So I find very stupid they write an article about "Duffy at Disneyland Paris" and nothing about "Disney Dreams!".

Every Disney Resort deserves consideration as they are part of the worldwide Disney family!

Maybe DLP will get some attention on April 12th, when the resort is celebrating its birthday. On the weekend there was just the press event.

I've always assumed they kept quiet about Paris because its not the most 'prosperous' member of the family. In fact it's the one with the most issues. Sort of like the "Great Aunt" Professor Porter says they don't talk about in Tarzan.

Hopefully, as Dagobert says, come April 12th they should shed a bit more light on the resort.

Just a point of clarification, Hongkong International Theme Parks is a partnership between The Walt Disney Company and the Hong Kong Government. It served as the basis for the Shanghai Disney Resort partnership, with the same 43% / 57% ownership split, however part of the agreement in which The Walt Disney Company is paying for the current expansion its share of ownership is expected to increase to 48%.
