DLRP.fr just posted this new picture about the coming Pierre & Vacances/Disney Nature Villages.

Read official statement from Disney : http://www.eurodisney.com/data/308.pdf

    L'eau = water
    La terre = earth

It was formerly known as Camp Davey Crockett, but since they got rid of the camp grounds, they changed the name).

Each Nature Village will be based on a particular outdoor theme - water, woodland, countryside and (if I remember correctly) adventure sports. Davey Crockett Ranch will become the woodland Village, and a series of artificial lakes and rivers will be built nearby for the water Village, while rocky escarpments and climbing walls will be constructed for the adventure sports one. It's going to be an enormous complex, but as you can see from the satellite shots, they have plenty of space!
Wow be sorry to see it move on but the new plans look exciting

Do they really? Because it looks to me as if Bland European Developing Company is about to turn a nice Disney resort into a steroid-grown Center Parcs. As if Europeans really need to schlep themselves to Marne-la-Vallée for such a thing.

Clearly Camp Davy Crockett wasn't high on Disney's list so atleast something is going to be developed.Had it stayed Camp Davy Crockett Disney may of just ran it down or closed it altogether.Try and stay up beat yeah

Well, I apologize for viewing everything in PessiVision, but I think there are better ways to develop DLRP than to have dull outside companies fill it up with their thinly decorated McRealEstate. The world has enough outlet malls and Travelodges with 'themes' executed in a minimum of faux shingles and plaster facades. Now, at first at least they were adding to the resort (the Good Neighbor hotels, the train station, the Val d'Everythings)... But now they're taking away from our precious 1992 Euro Disney remnants.

    That's personal, haha.

Well the campground is gone already so maybe at least the new project will be worth visiting.

I still have a Euro Disney tshirt.

Why is Disney buidling subdivisions on it's land, and then selling it off?

EDIT: never mind, I just looked it up on Wikipedia. I see what they are doing. Kind of like the "towns" of Bay Lake and Lake Buena Vista and the RCID (Reedy Creek Improvement District) in Florida (for control) and a bit of Celebration thrown in too.

Euro Disney was always planned as a master development, it was not a "Reedy Creek", but more of a public-private partnership. They didn't build the RER and TGV out to Euro Disney for the park and the Disney resort alone. They were investing in the Val d'Europe, which Walt might have liked better than EPCOT Center.

I said "like" Reedy Creek, meaning they have say it what goes on in the municipality.

Val d'Europe is a beautiful area, except for some graffiti (what is it about Europeans and tagging everything?) ... very nice, upscale, friendly, open spaces ... and their outlet mall sure feels on par with the most expensive malls in Central Florida, NOT the outlet/crap malls.

They also have a great pharmacy when you need it.

What ever development that takes place at Euro Disney will still have to follow the Disney guild lines as I believe Disney have full control on what construction will look like.Camp Davy Crockett is a good 15 mins away by car anyway and will not harm the look of the Resort in anyway. Not like it does in California with the million hotels and fast food resturants that line the streets next to Disneyland.

Don't take it to personal either

though the name "Camp Davy Crocket" will disappear, the campground as it is now will mostly remain the same and even triple in size (that was always the planning, even before Pierre & Vacance got involved).

so no panic... see it as instead of having one campground, you now get a larger campground and 3 other nature themed "active-vacation" grounds.

Well alright, point taken. So it'll be exactly the same except there'll be a great deal of land filled with "activities" I'll simply have to avoid. *has vision of self on climbing wall; chortles; pours another scotch*

Still, they'll have to remove a hotel from the "Disney's" list. Has that ever happened before?
