    Montana Surprise

Upon arriving at my Montana suite at the Sequoia Lodge last year, I was greeted with a complimentary Pooh cup and bowl and a cuddly Mickey for my son. The cup and bowl were gift wrapped and left on the table and the Mickey was on one of the beds.

Are these gifts part of the normal service for a Montana room? I have never seen this advertised as part of the package although it did create a pleasant surprise.

I am going to stay in a Montana room again when visiting later in the year and want to know if I was just lucky or if I may get another treat. I would hate to be disappointed!

One would hope its part of the package for someone who's willing to pay soo much for a room with a view...

What I would say in defence of the Montana rooms is that they are not 'more money just for a nice view'.

The size of the rooms is considerably bigger and the fact that you are guaranteed a room in the main building is worth the minimal extra cost alone!

You were just lucky to get this surprise. This is not part of the package.
And for 12 per room/night I would always pay the difference between standard and Montana room. Because the room is much bigger, you have a minibar, and you are in the same building as the restaurants and the reception.

The only way its worth paying extra for a mini-bar equipped room would be if you had unlimited use of the contents included in the price!

    Re: Montana Surprise

    Hakuna Montana!

Actually, the reason that we always go Montana is that on our first stay at the Sequoia, we got a free upgrade to a Montana. I didn't realise this until planning our next trip when I read the room descriptions. We then paid for a Montana room and got the gifts that I have mentioned.
Both of these visiys were in low season (March) and I assume that I may have got these freebies because I paid for the Montana while others may have got the free upgrade that we got the year before.
    It's a theory...
