Animated Presence in the Parks at DLP?

Hello Paris brothers and sisters! I'm conducting a lengthy survey of sorts and I need your help. It's essentially a complete listing of everything and anything at the Resort, including the hotels that was inspired by an animated film. I'm talking about rides, shows, parades, stores, restaurants, a cart... whatever.

The link to my massive list can be found here, but to make it easy for you guys, I'll post all that I have of Paris so far.

I think you have most of it Coheteboy unless you count parades and stageshows which include/have included - Tarzan, Lion King, Lilo and Stitch, 101 Dalmations etc. Also parade float coverage. Are these a part of your exercise?
Let's put the Walt back in Disney!

Good question and thanks for being the only one to respond! I don't know enough about the shows and parades to include them. I think if there's a specific movie show, that would certainly count.

For example at Disneyland, Hercules and Mulan recieved their own parades at one point. That would be an example of a parade to include. If Beauty and the Beast has a stage show... that would count.

If you have ANY info, that would be great!

Don't forget the "Legend Of The Lion King" show in the Hyperion Theatre in Discoveryland. Or "Stitch Encounter", coming soon to the studios. There's also a dedicated Monsters Inc. photo location in Toon Studio. And Mushu features heavily in the Art of Disney Animation tour - I'm not sure if you want to count that as an official Mulan reference or not.

All of those are definitely worthy! Thanks!

Is the Monsters Inc photo op an official location? Is it called anything? Photo of it?

Hmmm, but by some of that rationale, all of them are featured in Cinemagique or Animation, or in scenes of Animagique. Where do you draw the line?

I think Cinemagique counts, but does it only showcase a few of the films or way too many to list?

Oh wow, fantastic! Are these the official names of the shows? You know like... "legend of the lion king" sounds right. In Disneyland, the hunchback show was "Festival of Fools", Hercules was "Hercules Victory Parade", etc.

Do the hotels also have any store names or restaurants based on animated characters or films?

Cinemagique has Mary Poppins and Pinnochio.

Animagique features - The Lion King, Dumbo, Little Mermaid, and the Jungle Book

As for the stage show and parade names, sorry - I can't remember the names off the top of my head, and I should be working, so I can't look them up right now (off to DLP for 2 weeks this weekend) so I thought I'd sign post you. Maybe try google?

Also, the hotels and Village are tied to geography, not Disney Stories, so non of them have names associated with Disney animation. The closest options are Annette's - named after Annette Funecello of the Mickey Mouse Club fame, Cafe Mickey, and Davy Crockett Ranch. There is a play area themed to Who Framed Roger Rabbit in the Disneyland Hotel. Also, Toy Story is represented at Pizza Planet restaurant in Discoveryland.

Thanks for the help! This is a great start. I'll do some research about those parades and shows now that I know what I'm looking for.

And yup, I covered the Pizza Planet already. That's the one thing I was able to find!

And if it isn't any trouble, if you could take pictures of any signage or other new things that I've missed.

I'm really interested in the Roger Rabbit play area!

We'll see what we can do - I have two little ones and a 14 person fan meet as well as non Disney Activities, so it's not as easy as it used to be.

The photo location is called the "Scream Scene/Scene de Cris". Photos can be found at: www.photomagiques.com
As for "Art of Disney Animation", I feel it should count, as Mushu is the main attraction in the behind-the-scenes talk. He has a dialogue with the on-stage animator, talks directly to the audience, and gives a commentary on the action taking place on both the screen and stage.

In Phantom Manor, one of the ghost projections is from Fantasia, it's the ghost that flies throuhg a noose before Pahntom Canyon.

Ok cool! Yah, I counted Mushu in the CA animation tour as well. He was even on the signage.

As for the Phantom Manor... hmm... that's a toughie. More like hidden gem than an actual inspired use of a character. But that's really cool to know!
