Extra Magic Hours

"Specific areas of Disneyland® Park will be available to you either 2 hours before regular park opening or 2 hours after scheduled park closing, so you can enjoy easier access to selected attractions - even some of the most popular ones."


Anyone know which are the specific areas? More importantly, has anyone got any advice about using the magic hours to their full potential, ie what has considerably less queue time.

It may change, but when we were there it was:

AM: Buzz, Orbitron, Space Mountain, Peter Pan, Pinocchio, Dumbo, Carousel, Tea Cups

PM: Buzz, Orbitron, Space Mountain, Peter Pan, Pinocchio, Dumbo, Carousel, Tea Cups, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indy, BTM and Phantom Manor.

So for AM - hit SM, Buzz and Peter Pan, PM - It's all good.

On our trip on EMH we tended to leave the park for an afternoon break (swim, nap, shopping ay Val De Europe etc.) and enjoy the extremes of the day. Or have a nice long lunch in the Village when the parks were busiest!

I seem to think that it is only AM Magic Hours during the summer. The park is open until 11pm anyway.

So what do DLP think of us Europeans? That we are wimps?! If they kept DLP open until 1am/2am - I'd be there!

But they're not so I won't.

Im not going til September when the park closes at 7pm so its mostly EMH in the evening keeping it open till 9pm

Something has just occured to me.

How is the Extra magic Hours policed in the evening?

Obviously, in the morning they only let in Disney hotel residents by checking the tickets. But on an evening what do they do? Kick everyone out and then re-admit the residents? Or only let residents onto the rides?

Another thing - are the admissions for the morning Extra Magic Hours more organised than those for Good Morning Fantasyland. Last time I attended a GMF, it was an absolute shambles! We were being admitted through the side gate and nothing made it clear that only GMF people or those having a character breakfast would be admitted. This meant that half the people there were just trying to get into the park early. No CM took it upon themselves to announce this to the crowd and so it was only when people without vouchers reached the head of the 'line' that they were turned away. At this point there was no where for them to go - it was just a wall of people behind them. Of all my experiences in DLP, this one was by far the worst and (with a small child) most frightening. Please tell me this will not happen with the EMH.

Not really. I have spent the entire evening and morning hours at the MK (during Grad Nights), and at DL (during the 30th anniversary all-night party. At DLP, I have not done so because the trains stop after midnight and I do not have the time to stay up that late since I usually have to go to work the next day in the morning.
