Main Street Electrical Parade

This is a general Main Street Electrical Parade discussion thread but also poses the question, who would like to see the electrical parade return? To be quite honest I think it kicks Fantillusion's behind, it was brighter, more fun, no irritating stops. Talk away!

I still like SpectroMagic better (probably bad taste, but the waltzy theme rocks my boat), but yes, I too miss the Main Street Electrical Parade. Could Fantillusion be more boring?

No, no it couldn't.

I am so glad i am not alone in finding Fantillusion boring. I love Msep. Dreamlights would be even better.

How about "Yea...but with the Dream Lights from Tokyo" option?

And if could been worse...see "Light Magic Tragic".

MSEP itself was great, but for me the music was :eek:. After ten minutes listening to it my brain waved "goodby" ;) :))

For me it's the music that makes it. I love Baroque Hoedown

It was just so....I dunno, it was just amazing (the music). The way it sort of electronically crescendoed into it, it was just great fun. Also, is it just me or was it way brighter/more colourful than Fantillusion?

No, I'm afraid that I agree with rieanna. The MSEP music drives me mental! I have a CD of DLP parade music and always skip that track.

I always thought I'd prefer the Fantillusion music to the Baroque Hoedown, because it sounded a little less annoying when I played it on my computer. But then I saw Fantillusion in DLP and well, fell sound asleep. The Baroque Hoedown sort of "makes" the MSEP; the lights and the music morph together into one electrosynthomagnetic (or similar) experience. It just works. It may get a little annoying after a while, but after two stops it's the Fantillusion music that gets unbearably kicky to me. Like playing a disco song in a traffic jam.

Well... since Paris only got a butchered version of the TDL's epic Fantillusion parade, I would have to agree. I pain every time I see Fantillusion in it's highly edited form in Paris, featuring the most horrible costumes of any electrical parade: the see-thru skirts on those girls towards the back of the procession... which are in bad taste and not included in the TDL original version, thank God! Maybe one of these days, you should all sit down and watch the TDL dvd "Sayonara Fantillusion" and see Fantillusion the way it was intended to be played: GRAND, and with a cast of Hundreds.

Still... while I agree the original MSEP is fun, it's also painfully dated, so I would not care either way if it was indeed brought back for an encore or not, especially after seeing the newest technology used in TDL's Dreamlights.

That was one of the things I love about MSEP though, so wonderfully retro hehe.

I voted yes. But I love Fantillusion Parade too.
Bring it back to the WDS !

I love the MSEP for its music and good nostalgic fun.
I like Fantillusion for its music as well, but agree it's only half as majestic as it wants to be.

It's time for something new!

And by something new I'd mean something old...MSEP...:D
