Ummm ... in my closet somewhere! It's actually from a VHS tape (recorded over the air) that I transfered over to a DVD. The quality is pretty good too.

I recorded the British broadcast of the park but it went missing in my haste to transfer everything over to DVD. I seem to remember it was pretty poor anyway.

I uploaded these vids to stage6! Initially I did it for another forum but I'm glad you like them. The video tour of DLP is also well worth a watch if you're not familiar with the resort. It's a long video but gives you a real feel for the parks.

I was there for the Grand Opening event (plus many days prior and after). Just as I was about to return to the U.S...one of the marketing guys from WDW that I knew that was working the event, gave me a big box of the complete set of Grand Opening event and general Press B-Rolls on professional Beta tapes. I did eventually get them transfered to NTSC VHS and have them someplace in the Opus Archives. Lots of fun and crazy stuff went on there for several days. It was one of the most incredible Grand Opening parties I've ever seen before or since. And the spread of food throughout the Resort, was just decadent!

But the really great events and parties happened the two days and nights before the official Grand Opening. Very little of those events ever appeared on any of the television specials or coverage.

I recall they shipped over several massive 40 foot trailers/containers of genuine Mesquite firewood from Texas, and they were cooking with it all over property and burning it in all the resort fireplaces! The smell was just intoxicating everywhere you went. As Dr. Hammond would say, they "spared no expense."

A side note is that we still have some of the Comp tickets that were issued to us back then during the Grand Opening, and we still use them to this day. They're still valid, but we do have to exchange them at Guest Relations because they changed the turnstile system at some point.
