Actually, last time I was there I thought I saw Merlin...

...it was actually a dazed tourist with a 'caution wet floor' cone on his head.

I dunno, them lattes are are pricier than gasoline. Good thing cars don't run on lattes...think how much a gallon of Starbucks would cost.

Great report I really need to get back to DLP soon.

I'm not sure what he was aiming at, but it sounded cryptic and business-like. It also made me suspect that he owned just a few more shares than I do. The girl replied, and this is without a hint of hyperbole,
"Yes, zere is an ATM right at ze left of ze--"
"No no, not ATMs, Indian bankers!"
She looked genuinely frightened. She looked as though she would have given over all the chocolate croissants in the storage room if that would have made the man leave.

"No. INDIAN BANKERS. What... do... you... know...about-the-In-di-an-ban-kers. Un-der-stand?"
"You can exchange money at ze--"
"NO. NOT ATMS, NOT BANKS, INDIAN--"
This went on and on. I felt so sorry for her. I intervened and said "I don't think she knows, mate." I said it in an Australian accent. When I'm on vacation alone, I like to try on different accents and identities. And this felt like an Aussie moment. He sighed and went back to picking at his breakfast roll.

Sounds to me like the guy was trying to be a smart ***.

"Indian Bankers" could be rhyming slang for a derogatory term popular in the UK.
Being a family forum I don't really want to say much more.

The proper term for that word is 'Merchant Bankers'.

I don't know if Europe has been experiencing this but there have been a lot more than usual Indian tourists arriving in the USA this summer for vacations. Indians have more money than ever and July-August is a good time to escape the sub-continent.

I absolutely enjoyed this TR! The prose, the pictures, the shock of being discovered and others playing along. I loved it. I'm going to be sure to read any and all of your future reports!
    I want my cake back!
