Candleabration music

I nearly dropped my ears (saved by earphones) when I was listening Peter Pan Motion picture soundtrack at iTunes. Note that this is Universal pictures movie - not Disney. On second track there's song called Flying and I do belive in Fairies composed by James Newton Howard. It's 1:1 version of the music DLP is playing in Candleabration show (and had on their web page too) before lighting the candles. And lighting candles is using song Peter Returns.

Re: Candleabration music

Interesting although using non-Disney music in the theme parks is hardly uncommon. However using a 'rival' score to one of theirs is certainly an unusual choice.

Re: Candleabration music

Given the music in the adverts for DL, WDW and DLP have been using Universal's Peter Pan Score, this does not surprise me in the slightest.

I would think they're leased on individual contracts. (Unless the Mouse bulk buys from its rivals).

Anyway, the good thing about them using the "Pan's Flight" (I think that's what it's called) is that people will recognise it more and more as a Disney tune.

Re: Candleabration music

Well, one of their spring carnivals saw "Horny Horny Horny Tonight". Although I do believe that was at one point considered for the romantic climax in The Lion King.

But seriously, I suppose we shouldn't be too surprised. It is a very beautiful score, one that Euro Disney probably couldn't afford to have composed just for them.

I think it happens a lot. Even the Pirates of the Caribbean films use a lot of recycled music -- so well, apparently, that people now associate that sweeping, energetic chase score (how else to describe it?) with these movies alone, while it has been around for eons.

Good find, though!

The track "Flying" is not only used in this show, but it's also the theme to the Year of a Million Dreams.
