Labyrinth refurb!!!

It seems that After a lot of ear bashing from fans all over that world, the suits at DLRP have finally decided to give Alice's Curious Labyrinth the refurbishment it deserves.

According to DLRPMagic.com the unique attraction will close on the 1st of september for a WHOLE month to allow a complete refurbishment along with the addition of several brand new replacement props that are waiting backstage already.

This is such good news! ACL, in my opinion, is one of the best attractions in ANY fantasyland, totally original and what helps to make Disneyland Park the best "magic kingdom" there is.

DO THE CASTLE NEXT!!!!!!!!

ORWEN: This sure is really good news!! But is the castle really in need of a rehab, too, DLRPbigFan, duckling? I thought it just had one when they added the decorations for the recent anniversary.

Re: Labyrinth refurb!!!

Although the castle could do with a little attention it is far from near the top of the priority list.

Re: Labyrinth refurb!!!

So what is the priority list? There's the Treehouse, obviously, and the Newport Bay Club needs work... But for the rest it's mostly in the "bad choices" and "killing it softly" categories. Or as Yee calls it; declining by degrees.

I don't think the castle needs a total rehab but maybe just a clean up and a quick lick of paint and i would really love to see the purple flowers growing up the back left hand tower again.

Re: Labyrinth refurb!!!

Yay! I love the labyrinth and would be so happy to see it receive a little TLC! although this means if it's under refurb for the whole of september, i won't be able to experience it on this trip

...however that's a small price to pay for getting it back into shape!

You mean the ones that used to hang from the balcony? Because I'm pretty sure they were fake...

Is that attraction still in a bad state?

Its been crying out for a decent refurbishment for what seems like ages now. Credit to the Cast Members who try there hardest to fix some of the existing problems during the hours PM is not operational, but you can only do this for so long. PM is the youngest Haunted Mansion attraction out of the current four, but the poor state its in you would think differntly. Even the Magic Kingdom's version of the attraction has recently had a very nice refurbishment done to it when not only were the existing problems fixed, but also a whole load of brand new efects by the Imagineers were added.

The online world needs to focas its attention of this attraction next.

Oh yes, i know they were fake but they looked good, it was nice to see a splash of purple against the pink.

Yes, some of the hotels do need a fixer upper... Although you'd think they would have their own refurbishment budget. I'm not sure how it works, but I am sure that, while schlepping through the dilapidated, winding hallways of the Newport Bay Club, it crosses every critical guest's mind that for what they were just charged on their credit card, someone ought to be able to fix some of that wallpaper.

Other hotels aren't "peeling" quite as badly as the aforementioned, but need a little direction nonetheless -- the Hotel New York especially used to feel a lot more like a four star hotel when its courtyard had a gorgeous fountain involving a map of Manhattan, two kiosks selling food and beverages and trees strung with twinkle lights. What was it, taken over by carnies?

The lawns and gardens seem perfectly fine to me, though. The Fantasia Gardens have never looked better.

Re: Labyrinth refurb!!!

I, for the record, hate that go-kart track outside the HNY as well, utterly hideous and inappropriate (unlike the suitable ice rink). It should be gardens or something, anything other than that. I think the hotels probably need a general tidy, but PM really is the top of my priority list, and POTC isn't that far behind (BIG BIG audio problems, and many effects problems). These are big attractions that are brilliant and clever, but they're being left to rot as if that's ok, I mean what is this the Magic Kingdom? Ooh, too soon, too soon... I don't think the castle is anywhere near the top, it looks good, maybe not perfect, but nothing ever will. There'll always be something that needs a refurb!
