Stitch - Blue Wonder or Illegal Alien?

Although Stitch seems to have taken a backseat for this year's Halloween celebrations at DLP after hogging all of the lime-light last year, the little monster is still now a massive presence within DLP (and the other parks). As they did with Roger Rabbit in the late 80s and early 90s, Disney now seem to be trying to make him part of Mickey's gang (or The Big 5) although a blue alien seems less of a comfortable fit in the gang than a dungaree-wearing rabbit.
At DLP he now has his own attraction of sorts and his own live show (is Catch a Wave still on?) as well as appearing on more and more merchandise. He makes a nice fit on the ToT T-shirt but a Christmas snowglobe?
So the question is simple, is Stitch a great asset to the park or a menace in need of a visit from the MIB?

I'm betting nearly everyone will say he's a menace. However, I believe he's just overexposed. If he wasn't so overused he'd probably have more fans.

MIB! MIB! KILL HIM!!! KILL HIM!!! I really do hate Stitch; he has his place, but Disney don't know where that place is.

Whoa there Fizzy! Take a chill pill!

I actually like Stitch. Lilo and Stitch is one of the few things that Disney anaimation have got right in the last decade and his anarchic sensibilities do make him a nice contrast to many of Disney's characters' sacharine qualities. saying that, I am pleased that the villains have taken their rightful place as Masters of Halloween this year (nice to see the likes of Si and Am featured on the new spooky website)

I agree with this. Although I'm not the biggest Stitch fan I do feel bad for the guy because he is over used. I have a great example. A year or so ago I wanted to buy my girlfriend a Lady and the Tramp pin from Disneyland but the only one they had was the scene with Lady and the Tramp eating the spaghetti with Stitch sitting between them and stealing there food. There was no reason for that pin to be made. I was kind of upset by that. I have kind of seen less of him though lately.

Re: Stitch - Blue Wonder or Illegal Alien?

I ventured over the park and saw stitch everywhere I looked! Mind you, I was wearing a stitch mask at the time. *Ba dum chhhhh* *Dust ball rolls by* *asterisk key falls off*. But seriously, I agree with the Fizz here, he must die, I still have fond memories of Alien Encounter before Mr. Stitch ruined it! (I like WDW, big whoop, wanna fight about it). *hopes someone gets the family guy reference*

Welcome MrPhogg. From your post, I predict that you will fit right in here at MiceChat (and FYI - Family Guy is a regular source of reference in this site!)

Re: Stitch - Blue Wonder or Illegal Alien?

Maybe I've been harsh, I don't want Stitch to die, I want him to be tortured slowly until he learns his lesson and stays in his (moderately ok) movie.

Re: Stitch - Blue Wonder or Illegal Alien?

I really don't think Stitch has a massive presence at the Resort. No more than any of the Pixar characters, in any case Rataouille seems to be the most over exposed character at the mo. The Studios has renamed a restaurant after him, with appearances from that new living character experience, plus all the merchadise scattered everywhere. And thats not including talk of the new dark ride coming in 2012.

Indeed its true , but i think stitch is the character of the walt disney studios , everywhere you look they have stitch , for the good morning walt disney studios , the toon train, stitch live ,etc , and i think they wanna make the ratatouille characters "the next characters" of the studios because they living in paris ...

How do you really feel?

I like Stitch... because he's just a little nuts (maybe more than just a little). But I don't understand the whole obsession with him some have. He hasn't been around that long, so I can't consider him a "classic", but he does have the... thing... to stand out on his own.

Overall though, his presence at the parks does need to be toned down a bit.
