DLP with the Baloos Day 5

Our last full day at the resort, we were sure to make the most of it. We had some fantastic memories here, including being gifted by a cast member on Big Thunder (multiple rides with minimal queuing), seeing a cast member friend on Buzz, enjoying the company of the UKFAN posse, and a wonderful dinner overlooking the parade from Walts.

This day I got to dance with the African drummers (may put the video on YouTube if people are interested). A brush with nature featured in the day too.

And I have chronicled boot hill at Phantom Manor, Adventure Isle and the Adventureland Bazaar for some of my friends that are unfamiliar with it.
We finished up the day after exploring the park by night with watching the fireworks all cuddled up in our PJs in the room as a family. A great last night.

Here are the pics:

Thank you for the pictures of the Steakhouse (and the food). It looks much better than I'd imagined; will definitely eat there next time. Also, I don't care what Walt said, you can't have a proper meal without wine. Bless Disneyland Paris.

Please be sure to see the last set once uploaded. I am glad you liked them. These pics were designed for those who know and love the park and those that do not. Thanks for taking the time to look and reply.

I agree. It's like we have several Club 33's in DLP. Wonderful.

As for the Steakhouse, I would put it in the same caliber as Steakhouse 55 in Disneyland, and the Yachtsman Steakhouse/the old steakhouse at the Contemporary. Good choice, great wine cellar.

Excellent, but the Frontierland theme/location makes it so much more fun, so unlike normal restaurants. I love how even the plates are themed — I know they do it at Walt's too (can't remember the Blue Lagoon's or the Auberge's), but it's one of those fussy details you'd think they'd have long abandoned by now. *knocks on wood*

Also...

"A chilli burger - only good quick service burger I have had in a Disney park anywhere"

My thoughts exactly! Isn't the Cowboy Cookout great? I didn't mean to turn this into a food thread, my apologies. But it's true.

The food options, plates and themeing at DLP are very good. But some of our fellow countrymen run scared at the prospect of a meal lasting 2-3 hours.

Re: DLP with the Baloos Day 5

Culinary rules of DLP - never eat in Discoveryland, can't ever really go wrong in Frontierland. Stick to those rules and you'll eat ok.

Re: DLP with the Baloos Day 5

Ok Baloo... this is your last day at the park and you run back to the hotel early and watch the pyro from there? What's wrong with this picture man?? You should be IN the park until closing time enjoying the last few thrills in the dark!!

Also... the kids.. yes they are adorable and such.. but they are always hugging, kissing, holding hands and totally into each other...(shivers) Hmmm... At that age, my sis and I were throwing daggers at each other and trying not to miss!!!

As for the Phantom Manor pics... I am glad you brought out the storylines that can be found in the post show's cemetery area. Goes to show how well thought out (like most of TDS is) the imagineers planned the story around this attraction, and its sad that many guests do not take the time to stop and enjoy this.

(Hint: if you managed to stretch DLRP into a 5-day visit as I think 3 days would be my max, I believe you should plan to be at TDR at least 7 days to take it all in, and leave the kids behind because there is simply NO arriving at TDL or TDS before 9am and NO leaving TDL or TDS before 9pm. Ever!!)

Re: DLP with the Baloos Day 5

The kids often fight too, but I don't tend to photograph that!

But DLP I personally still felt we spent too little time there this trip. I like to shop at leisure, swim, take 2-3 hours over meals, and really enjoy the place (my 6 days at DL in March felt too short too).

Sadly the quality dips at WDW made my 12 days in 2006 feel like a lifetime though (very poor).

As for watching the pyro from the room, I weighed up it was the best way to enjoy the fireworks. I don't like Fantillusion, half the park closes an hour before the fireworks, but being in the room with a glass of wine watching the pyro feels even more exclusive. Much better than fighting the masses.

OK.. taking all of this info into consideration, I will tell you this: when the time comes to go to TDR... you will need major information on how to tackle that resort... or else, you will need 10 days there. It's a resorts where you have move move move if youwant to do everything at least once.As for Fantillusion.. one of the best parades Disney ever created...AS PERFORMED at TDL. Sadly, the Paris version was so chopped off badly and poorly executed. What you guys got in Paris was 40% of what Fantillusion was in Tokyo and that may be a reason why even the most ardent fans like yourself, have recieved it so poorly.

Also, next time... pics of your kids fighting would be fun!!

All hence why I want to wait until the kids are older. But yes, when we go I am planning on 4 weeks in Japan, 1 week at least to be disney (or maybe a trip to TDL at the beginning and end of my stay).
