From recent visit to DLRP

Here are some selected photos from my recent afternoon visit to Disneyland Resort Paris. It was a sunday, and the park was very crowded but also, the property looked great in blooming colors all over, courtesy of mother nature and the DLP horticulture dept.... Great show at DLP on this particular visit.

First up, DLP:

Few shots from WDS:

Some exclusive merchandise that caught me attention.. such as popcorn buckets, DLP-exclusive tee designs, Parade des reves souvenirs... etc.

Finally, Disney Village looks greener and nice with the addition of trees and other improvements.

That is all for now folks. I do intend to go back to DLP on Sept 14th. Hopefully the Halloween decor will be up by then... and I will try to add more photos if it merits coverage. More photos from this particular visit can be found at the Micechat Weekend Update for this past weekend. Go to MC's Home and click on the Weekend Update window. Thanks.

Re: From recent visit to DLRP

Nice photos, the resort is looking very pretty and green. On one of those WDS shots it actually looked like Hollywood Blvd. was a straight street coming off Studio 1, but alas, not only is that not the case, but it would be far too plausible to have a long street at the park's entrance when the ethos seems to be 'Make the structure as ridiculous as possible'.

Re: From recent visit to DLRP

And hopefully said flags will be gone soon (though they should've gone, and the 15th should've ended, months ago). These photos really do make me optimistic about the park's future.

Re: From recent visit to DLRP

Those are some great pics! Thanks, TDLFAN. The park really is looking stunning in its summer clothes. And I like the wildflower/country meadow approach to some of those planters. I don't think I've seen that approach at DLRP before.

Hmm, that's the Disneyland "D" in that weather vane. Nice little tribute — a savvy designer there at Euro Disney for once.

Don't judge by the picture. This time, DLP's gardeners have gone for a wildflower look that fills some planters with color and texture, and they did a very nice job. While the picture may give a different idea.. the planters look kept and well cut while filling in the space with colorful little flowers. It's a different approach and it looks great.

How nice of you to drop in the Paris section Karla.. Ok, in regards to the flags on Main Street USA, they are not really flags. They are hard posters that contain points of fiber optic lights and at night they create an illusion of pixie dust on either side of the street. They are very nice..AT NIGHT. In the daytime, they overpower the area. Reason for that is because they went overboard and installed way too many of them and as you can see, they all look alike. This is a similar mistake to what WDW has done with the "Million Dreams" posters than hang everywhere on WDW property... most jarring in the parking lots and DTD.
Like someone else posted, these posters were up for the 15th anniversary which should have ended back in mid april, but due to the 15th anniversary popularity, the celebration has brought in some of DLP's best crowds ever, so the celebration has been extended into this year as well. Hopefully these banners will go soon, along with everything related to the 15th anniversary. I just pray we won't have a repeat of what happened at the MK in 1997.. when they decided to extend the 25th anniversary celebration to capitalize on profits, but then again... 4 years later, they negleted to celebrate the 30th, and most recently the 35th as well.. Hopefully Paris will do the right thing and celebrate the park's milestone years from now on and not mimic WDW for being cheap.

Re: From recent visit to DLRP

Some beautiful shots as usual TDLFAN. I have to say, although there were a few misteps on my last trip, overall the park was in fine form.
