i'm pretty sure that the next step in the few years is to switch from gas system to an Electrecity system like HKDL to Save the gas bill that Disney have to pay .

in Europe we pay close to $12 a gallon compare to $3,... a gallon in the US .

Actually, it's stuck in the 70's since it was designed loosely based on the concept of the original TL at the MK.
But I agree with Luke above.. HKDL's TL is now the most cohesive... and frankly, the most colorful, especially at night.

Strange that by changing (or removing) only one of the original attractions that made up Discoveryland in 1992, the removal of Le Visionarium, suddenly everyone is talking about it not being cohesive and lacking story. Remember that Space Mountain de la Terre a la Lune wasn't part of the original first three years op operation, so we could leave out that theme switch to Mission 2 for a minute. If we do, we see that only Captain EO has been swapped with Hista, and Le Visionarium with Buzz. The other attractions are still there! Could we conclude that Le Visionarium therefore was the heart and soul of the original Discoveryland? (a conclusion I think many of you have already made or like to agree on )

It's horrible, obviously, but in their signature strange and contradictory manner, they've also unveiled something good in Discoveryland:

Why Discoveryland needs an information board is beyond me, but it looks very nice.

Oh and DLRP_bopazot, I don't think that's how it actually looks. Someone retouched that to make a point.

I like the font.. but not the colors. The re-touched one doesn't look bad IMO

It's just... As with all these things, the old version was clearly designed by some Imagineering veteran who knew what they were doing, whereas the new version might as well be the work of an overconfident intern.

The old logo was otherworldly, looks like it was done in a custom font and was tailored to its vertical, retrofuturistic context. The new one has a warp/crescent thing (as EVERY logo does nowadays), was done in an existing font someone likely Googled and looks slapped onto its supporting beam as opposed to made for it. Worst of all, it looks like a fast food chain logo.

To be honest, while it's not bad at all, the same goes for the logo on top of the new information board. Although the relief below it is excellent.

So while it's not dreadful in a hat-on-Hollywood-Boulevard sort of way, it's just painful to see the armchair designers of today ruin a land that was created by geniuses.
