Surprise Halloween Trip to DLP!!!

Well folks,

I have had some rough days at work, and we all really love Halloween, so I just booked a surprise trip for us for the start of the celebrations. The kids don't know, it will be a surprise that morning. We will be going from St Pancras on the Saturday morning. Then when we get there, my wife does not know, but we will be spending the night in the Disneyland Hotel. It is overpriced, but with 30% discount as a Dream pass holder, for a weekend trip with work and school either side, I will give it a try again. It will be a great surprise for them

Then on Sunday we are going back 1st class (it was only £35 more than normal and it means our dinner is taken care of!!!).

This is great, and may help me get through the week.

Sounds fantastic Dave, I'm very jealous that you and the family are heading back to the Resort so soon after your last trip. Hope you all have a great time.

On the subject of trip planning I have recieve confirmation by E-mail before that tickets for Buffalo Bills have been added to my booking, thanks to your recomendation Dave, to see this show.

Have you not seen BBWWS? I love it.

My mom thinks we are stupid for going back so soon, but I do think we ned to seize the opportunity. Heck, you are the one going to China, after not long going to HKDL! Mutual envy!

Re: Surprise Halloween Trip to DLP!!!

Good for you Dave!

If it does your soul good to go and helps with work pressures then it's got to be a good think. Much better than hitting the bottle.

On a similar note I managed to get my Jan 09 trip sort via Eurotunnel thanks to Mr Tesco. You might be interested to know that the very nice chap in the call centre said they expect thinks to be back to normal by the end of October.

I'm already in the middle of plotting a trip in June 09 taking in a French Center Parc on route. Secret plans (from my wife that is) are being looked at for a trip in the tail end of the year maybe November 5th for fireworks to Dec to get in the Christmas mood early.

Anyway enough of my addiction. I hope you and the family have a super trip!

Nope I have never seen Buffalo Bills in my life, and I'm only going this time because you give it such a good review on each trip.

I don't think your stupid for wanting to visit so soon after your last trip, if thats what you, Sarah and the kids enjoy doing fair play to you. Your correct sometimes you just need to seize the opportunity and go, reason for me booking the trip to China in the first place!

Re: Surprise Halloween Trip to DLP!!!

Bummer, I will just need to take lots of photos for you, and then we can hear how great TDL is in comparison (though I agree from what I've seen) ;-)

I am looking forward to surprising the family though, and seeing Jack and Sally, as well as the entertainment offerings.

I am glad to hear the Eurotunnel will be getting back to normal, with Tescos, we may make a Christmas trip after all.

Malin, I really hope you like BBWWS, they have trimmed some compared to what it used to be, but for a 1st timer, you are not likely to notice so much. Have a great time! Y'all come!

I want to know whether you are Gold Star, Red River, Blue Moon, or Green Mountain! And who wins. I am so excited for you!

Also Dave you must be looking forward to not seeing the pink Witches this year.

I have watched similar dinner shows in Vegas, so the expectations are high here. I'm expecting food to be average, while show to be fun and full of energy.

Baloo, check the halloween pics posted from HKDL in that section... so you can compare as well.

Aw, not in the food department, I hope. That was phenomenal back in 1994.

That has been hit. They still have the excellent Chilli and Corn bread, but now it is roast chicken (instead of BBQ) and a lamb Kebab (instead of ribs), and the potatoes have been trimmed down, with half ears of corn instead of full ones. Apple Crumble and Ice Cream still the same.

Sadly, the Europeans did not really like the original menu (some found it too spicy), so they have Euroed it to a degree. Not bad (and thankfully the chilli and corn bread are still there).

Also the preshow entertainment has been scaled down. The main show is the same.

So overall, to newbies, most will not notice (but I do :-(

I guess it must be difficult to find food everyone will enjoy, when your having to feed such a large audience. Chilli, Roast Chicken, and Apple Crumble all sounds good to me. I'm having a very nice meal at Walt's in the day time, so the food is not a big concern for me, and I'm more interested in seeing the entertainment.
