Coming early next year if we are to believe the rumours....

Re: Your opinion on Phantom Manor

The Problem with PM is that it needs a desperate upgrade.

Effects like the Phantom hanging the groom is lost because the strobes don't illuminate the top of the stretching room enough to even see the hanging guy, let alone the phantom.

In addition, the phantom's shadow in the ballroom isn't very visible. The ghosts of the ballroom should disappear more frequently.

The AA's such as the skeletons in the catacombs and the thunder mesa ghosts need to be upgraded because the movements are very crude. Other then that, they need to make the final show scene to be much larger in scope because it is quite visible where the wall ends.

Final change needed, fix the phantom at the end with the mirrors to move a little more and really make the illusion that he is behind your doombuggy real.

The story and concepts are beautiful as is the music, but the effects are not working. They need tweaking.

... and while they are on with all of that, they can make the doombuggies multi-lingual.

They should also redo the strecthing room lighting (the hanging groom and Phantom) since it is pretty hard to see.

No please don't

First of all this would cost a ton, because they need to install audio systems on the ride, with a system that knows where the car is in the ride because PM almost every ride slows down or stops

Installing a system in the ridecar that you can chose from different languages does distract from the overall experience

It would also distract you from paying attention to your own ride story because the car in front of you or behind you could be in another language

The reason PM has such a great musical score is just because there is no audio naration.

It would have been a really sad ride if they just took the HM organ and pull out the voice over.

About the stretching room, since last summer the phantom and the groom are very visible with the flashing strobes

I haven't been to the park since I was 16, but PM will always remain my favourite amongst the parks!

Having just ridden this attraction a few days ago, it is also one of my favorites but there are many maintenance issues to be fixed... among them, half of the dancing ghosts in the party scene were not moving.. this took away a lot of the show quality of the scene. Other problems included.. no reflection of the host ghost on the mirror riding the doombuggie and the "welcome back to the living world" sign being inop. The Jeckyl/hide AA appeared to have been altered and his face no longer changes to monster form. Yes, they do need to go inthere and make major fixes to return the show to top shape. One item I must compliment...when we entered the stretching room, the CM made sure people were quiet before beginning the show. "Silence!" I wish WDW's CM did this.

On an unrelated note: the sword fight in the POTC ride was working, but did not appear to be as fluid in motion as before. The swords used to tocuh and make noise but that was not the case here the other day.

Re: Your opinion on Phantom Manor

Shame to hear that, Phantom Manor has been calling out for a decent refurbishment for years. The park needs to allocate money to close attractions like POTC and PM down for a few months, and get both the Imagineers and maintenance crews in to not only fix everything, but also make the upgrades that the sister attractions in the other parks have recently recieved. Another reason for the trip back to WDW for me is a chance to ride the recently upgraded Haunted Mansion attraction.

This has been the case for as long as I can remeber. In fact that whole cemetary scene is chock-full of AAs and effects that need major TLC.

Hmmm, the sign has been broken since Aug, the mirror effect 1st week of Oct, the dancers are a new break - but that is poor show.

As for the sword fight in PotC, they have reprogrammed them as they used to slice each other up. It's a real shame.

Well, the upgrades at WDW's HM are very nice but not worth making a special trip to FL to see. Just catch them when you feel the need to come and see everything for no special reason at all.

That makes me very sad! without the dancers the grandness of the scene is surely taken away for possible first time guests! they will walk away not satisfied with the ride as they should be....

as for the other effects being broken....I don't wish to ride with it in that poor of condition!

overall it's the music that I love about the manor!

Re: Your opinion on Phantom Manor

Let me say this.. the ghostly dancers were there.. there are 6 couples. Three of the couples in the same turntable were operational, but the other 3 were not and looked horrible seeing them sitting there immobile while the others danced around.

Absolutely and seeing the Mansion is only one of the reasons to be visiting WDW. I havn't been to the Resort since just before Everest opened, so I feel I'm long over due a trip, and Everest and Toy Story Mania are high on my list.
