Fire at Rock'n Roller Coaster today !

Stunt Show got cancelled this afternoon and Armaggeddon closed till 4pm .

The Ride is actually under investigation . The fire happened on the roof the nothing has been damaged inside the Building .

DLP needs to ban smoking EVERYWHERE! in fact it should be a Disney principle. are the other parks smoke free?

The other parks do not allowed smoking anywhere, except in designated outdoor smoking areas in every land. Some parks are very good at following up and enforcing the rules (TDR) versus others not doing nearly enough (DLP) while some others are a hit or miss in regards to enforcing the smoking policies (WDW/DLR/HKDL).

I find smoking is a problem at lots of theme parks.
People smoke everywhere at Disneyland Paris even though there are lots of signs saying it is banned.
I went to the first day of the season at Legoland recently and they now have even less smoking area but there were still people smoking where they liked.

Ignoring the safety and health risks it just isn't nice being smoky. At least I have never had a problem with people smoking in queueing areas but I'm sure that must happen too.

glad to hear that the fire was not bad. As for the smoking, I have friends that occasionally has seen Belle at Disneyland smoking backstage while wearing her costume. They really need to enforce a policy that forbids any CM wearing a Disney costume not to smoke. The stinch of the smoke not only damaged the expensive costumes but linger on them then later they go and interact with children

I'm sure a tic-tac would suffice. I fear that if Cast Member's tried to ask guests not to smoke they wouldn't exactly get a warm response at DLRP.

These things take time. A decade ago, people all over Europe were smoking on trains, in office buildings and pretty much everywhere else. Now, it's pretty much banned from everything with a roof over it. Even the French have succumbed, and they're not a people to deny themselves a pleasure because someone said so.

To tell them to stop smoking outdoors so soon after the other bans would be like telling Americans that they can't own firearms for self-protection anymore. You would get outrage and protest.

I would have no problem if they banned firearms in America. I would vote for that law to pass. But you are correct. It will take time. What bothers me most is how everyone knows how damaging smoking is to health and still, young people are picking up this nasty habit. Yuk!
