Your TR and photos sum up DLP perfectly.

I am not surprised at your experience at Walt's - DLP generally suffers from a lack of proper organisation - and I too have had my trips there severely marred by the attitudes of some of the CMs. However the magic of the place still shines through and your TR and photos more than any other made me pine to return there soon. Well done.

Brilliant report. You clearly had a great time!
Your pictures give me a "homesick" feeling for DLP. They are brilliant!
I especially like the pictures with the cherry blossom petals on the pathway.
Great Report!

Great report and photos! Can't wait for the day I get to visit what I consider one of the most visually stunning Magic Kingdoms!

it's good to know that i'm not alone, but worrying at the same time i guess :-) you're totally right though, the magic of the place overpowers any other factors.

First of all, excellent report, Sgt. Tibs. The sheer plenitude of pictures is commendable, and I especially enjoyed those of the little details at Walt's etc. Lugging a camera around the parks all day, finding good angles and then putting it all on here; that's commitment.

It's sad but true. Some of it can be avoided by making an effort to cater to French sensibilities (i.e. no "I NEED-O A TELEPHONO NOW-O"), but even the most agile traveler isn't washed up against some Cast Members.

And there's no point in playing the Offended American every time you find yourself sighed at by some Monty Python French Waiter caricature... ("Well gosh darnit Vicki, I didn't spend my hard-earned money to be treated like this, you bet your gosh-darned behind I'm going to fill out a complaint form as soon as Chip and Skip come back from the Louvrah!") But that thing with the table at Walt's just sucks. Goodness knows you're paying enough to expect proper service (and there's the Offended American...)

Yeah, too bad it's so auditorily disappointing.

It changes but generally Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy are there. Common characters at Cafe Mickey (in my experience) include Eeyore, Mr Smee, Chip 'n Dale, Friar Tuck, Prince John, the Sheriff of Nottingham, Geppetto and Tigger (all of which are quite commonly sighted at DLP). I have also seen less common characters there such as Donald, Daisy and Pinnochio.

Re: Sgt. Tibs at DLP 05/04/09 - 10/04/09

The service at Disneyland Paris for me has been pretty much OK. I think the problem is that you expect excellence which is hard to acheive. When I went to Walt's the service was excellent, it was early so no problem getting a good table, and the food was great.
The best service I have had is when I went on the tour of Walt Disney Studios and it ended up that I was the only person on the tour. The guide was wonderful and told me loads of things I would never have known (even me being a huge Disneyland fan) and took me in the exit of Rock and Roller Coaster so I could see the launch (having already disscussed that I was scared of it) which gave me the courage to go on it later.

The problem is that when you receive bad customer service you tell 10 people, with forums on the Internet that can be multiplied massivly. Disney need to sort this out.

Thank you Nathan. Are their any places inside Disney Village or Euro Disney itself that have the princesses meet and greet you while eating?

Re: Sgt. Tibs at DLP 05/04/09 - 10/04/09

yeah nathan is spot on. we had mickey, prince john and friar tuck to begin with, and then goofy and chip and dale came out after they had left.

walking past every day we saw loads more in there too, minnie, donald, pluto etc.

not aware of any specific princess meals/meet and greets though.
