What a fantastic trip report! It's always nice to see photos of the Disney resorts I haven't been too, and you've captured it so well! Not everyone would be willing to photograph all the details you've gotten. It looks like such a beautiful park!! THank you for sharing!!

Great trip report! I've really enjoyed reading it and your pictures are great. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I'm sorry that you had some problems with the CMs. We have been to DLRP three times and never experienced unpolite or unfriendly CMs. Our worst experience with a CM was last year when we got wrong informations at City Hall concerning the opening of restaurants. The best CMs are found at ToT and in Adventureland. There they act like real pirates and creapy bellhoppers.

Although the CMs at DLRP were always very helpful and polite, I've to admit that the CMs at WDW were a little bit friendlier.

We have also eaten at Walt's two times, but never had a bad experience. The food was always delicious, the service was quick and our waiter friendly and polite.

On our last trip we have tried the Blue Lagoon Restaurant for the first time. We have read many bad reviews about the food and the service, but, again, we had a nice time.

Maybe we were lucky and it depends on the time when you are at DLRP.

Sgt. Tibbs - We have discussed the attitudes of the CMs. How did you find the attitudes of your fellow guests?

i think you've nailed it there Dagobert, it unfortunately is about luck. it's about a 50/50 chance i reckon :-)

you've given me quite the rope with which to hang myself there nathan :-)

without wanting to start world war 3 i would have to say mixed. it was certainly a lot friendlier than i remember it 2 years ago, but there are still 2 main sticking points.

1) smoking: this is just as much disney's fault really, it should be banned everywhere and policed. but people smoking in the line for rides is disgusting physically and socially, especially as you have no where to go. it's like they have captured and are torturing you! i found myself just standing and waiting, leaving a huge gap in the line. i think a lot of people realised what i was doing though and understood.

2) the lines themselves: we brits would easily win the world queuing championships and are quite proud of our organisation in public so it's a major culture clash when the french, spanish, italians and greeks push past you when the queue opens out in places. luckily our germanic and scandinavian friends are almost as reserved as us and this kinda evens it out.

i think i may have been barged out the way a few times in the park in general too but nothing major :-)

On my last visit, the indifference of the CMs paled in comparison to the downright bad attitudes and behaviour of certain nationalities. Public urinating (they didn't even bother going inside Skull Island - it was on the lawn outside Plaza Gardens!), the selfish behaviour of adults towards other people's children ("no I will not move six inches to the side so that your small child can watch the parade!") and gross queue jumping (including the classic 'old lady who suddenly transforms into a family of seventeen people just as she reaches the head of the line'). My main issue with the CMs is that they let all of this happen without batting an eyelid.

oh yeah, you're totally right about the parade viewing, it's like a wall of european steel, impenetrable!

but there is no way CM's would even comsider dealing with it, or any other incident for that matter. they seem to maintain a very passive role. only annoying you when you 'bother' them :-)

the depth of feeling on here is quite strong about this obviously, have you every written to complain nathan? i am currently awaiting a reply to my recent strongly worded letter.

disney seriously need to address this as it's in danger of ruining their park.
people need to start not going. my boycott will be in the form of a WDW trip further in to the future than my next DLP trip would have been.

although, fingers crossed, i might get to WDW for a day or two in september.

Changing an entire continent's culture will be very difficult. It's too bad guests are so out of control at DLP.

Lunch and dinner with Disney princes and princesses

Come and join Suzy and Perla at the Auberge de Cendrillon for a fairytale lunch or dinner*. Cinderella's mice friends will be there to greet you and make this an experience you will never forget. Share in the company of Princes and Princesses as they prance to a magical tune. For dessert, a surprise awaits you in the shape of Cinderella's "slipper".

Reservation required. Call our reservations office at +33 (0)1.60.30.40.50
or ask at the concierge desk of your hotel for more information.

* Based on the Park's closing time

My sister took my nieces to this last year and was very impressed.
Beware that the price for the Princess meal is $75 a head, but it is in a beautiful castle setting, with a great 3 course meal (pate, veal and deserts) and a cocktail and wine are included in the price. Little girls are given a souvenir tiara, and boys a sword.

Funny, I am boycotting WDW as I feel it is the worst Disney resort on the planet with DLP being a much better experience. Different strokes.

No. I'm typically British - I rolled my eyes and tutted, griped about it for weeks afterwards and then forgot about completely. Or at least until I come on here and all the old wounds are reopened!

This depends on the circumstances, I don't feel anyone who's been waiting for up to an hour to watch the parade, should give up his or her space to accomodate anyone who's arrived late.

Interesting I found Guest at WDW to be even worst in regards to this after a back to back trip to WDW & DLRP recently. The Cast Members were even worst, while granted DLRP Cast Members don't care, the Cast at WDW are completely useless at there jobs.

I can't argue with Dave here, he's spot on with his observation.

interesting opinions guys, obviously i've never been to WDW, so cannot compare, but by the sounds of the things the grass isn't always greener.

maybe i should just be happy with DLP :-)

:-) this is what i would usually be like but when you're spending thousands of pounds on something the expectations are a lot higher, and the same with my reactions :-)

Try Disneyland or Tokyo! Disneyland is better than WDW and DLP put together in many respects. In others, DLP is better.
