Re: Grizzly River Run coming to Paris?!

a KOTCS themed ride would be awesome. they could make it a robocoaster type of ride where goers would have to face a crystal skull and get all dizzy and stuff... and effects. ...and no more giant rolling rocks.

Re: Grizzly River Run coming to Paris?!

I think Indy is still a popular franchise worth building rides over, however stupidly disappointing KOTCS was. At least it was only one film unlike Star Wars' 3...I've spoken too soon, haven't I? Then again, Indy's popularity can only go down...hmm...

I think Indy's popularity is set in stone now. And after the initial disappointment of KOTCS (which I thought was pretty good) the status quo will be restored to the franchise.
However, I don not think that KOTCS will ever get anything like a ride based on it although all of the Indy attractions (apart from the WDW Stunt Show) are based on 'new' adventures anyway.

Right. Indy's universe is pretty huge. There are novels, graphic novels, video games, etc. based on the franchise. Not to mention the likes of the Young Indy Chronicles.

Most want to see Indy in his prime (circa Raiders, Temple and Last Crusade) which was part of the reason for the disappointment with Crystal Skull. Not entirely, but partially. I think most people want to see Indy always be at the top of his game.

I think as long as they base the rides on this Indy - the 1930s-40s era Indy, they can have a hit on their hands.

And the video game coming out in June looks like classic, old school Indy... might be reason to get a Wii:

I think KOTCS will gain popularity over time, just like Temple of Doom did. I myself liked Crystal Skull.

It's possible that HKD and Disney may well be planning an attration that utilizes many of the same mechanical elements as Grizzly River run. According to what I've heard, the emphasis is going to be on unique major and
e-ticket attractions at this park.

Re: Grizzly River Run coming to Paris?!

Besides, GRR is a much wetter experience than Splaah Mountain. With this in mind, the colder climate at DLP would make GRR far less desirable among guests than in Anaheim. A Splash Mountain type of ride is much more likely.

Re: Grizzly River Run coming to Paris?!

Plus Splash is a classic, like SM or BTM! Let's do it in the with-a-twist DLRP style! Or at least once-typical...
