Christmas 2009 - Busy Crazy? Or Just Busy?

My family and I have an opportunity to go to Europe this coming December, and are thinking about a visit to DLP. Being from So. Cal., we know (and I mean KNOW) how insane the crowds at DL can be. We've also seen TDR this past Christmas. I don't know about you, but there is no ride that's worth waiting over 5 hours for! But we expected the crowds, considered them to be part of the adventure, and just went with the flow.

So, the question is ... how crazy are the crowds at DLP during Christmas? Also, since I'm asking, any inside tips would also be appreciated.

If we make this trip, this will complete the circle for my wife and myself. All the parks, and twice on the Disney Magic. We even caught the Disney Ice Festival in Harbin! I guess we're closet Disney fanatics!

Early thru mid december, the corwds are Ok.. but the closer it gets to the end of the year..they do swell up and becomes a bit horrible. Plan accordingly. Avoid the last week in December.. and even early january.

In late December, expect 2-3 hour queues on the major attractions. Fastpasses will come in very handy!

Oh, and something that may be of use: last December, Disneyland Park reached it's full capacity one weekend. People were told to go to the Walt Disney Studios instead!!

Early December is fine, but do not visit on a Weekend. I did last year and the place was packed to capacity, with POTC having 60 minute waits while Star Tours was facing 3 hr wait. DLRP is fine on on Weekdays except during mid December when European School Holidays begin.
