You certainly will. Disneyland Paris is magical. It isn't without some problems, but it is well worth a visit. AND you'll be in Paris!!!

I walked up to it expecting a family coaster that made me feel like I was riding on the EAC, preceded by a fantastic dark ride section through colourful coral reefs.

Instead, I got a thrill ride not suitable for children, I didn't feel at all like I was riding on the EAC, and the dark ride section was too dark and too quick to appreciate anything.

More does not necessarily = better. Just look at WDW ;-)

that's weird because i thought they did an excellent job of making you feel like you were swimming underwater. you're right about it not being suitable for kids though, i thought it was pretty hardcore and better than temple of peril.

NDJnr (six years old at the time) loved it! I however refused to rejoin the queue. Does that make me a bad parent?!

Re: Great News!

I think it's perfectly suitable for kids, it's not rough or sickening, it looks/seems much worse than it is I reckon. They're obviously intended as fun, family - or even kiddy - coasters, look at the way they're marketed around the world, eg. Spinball Whizzer and Dragon's Fury.

Oh yes, that's why kids used to come off it crying and parents would complain that they didn't realise it was so intense!

Family Coaster - a roller coaster that both parents and children can enjoy together.

Crush is not that.

Re: Great News!

I would consider BTM to be more of a 'family coaster' than Crush as far as the 'scariness factor' is concerned. I have to admit to being a little rattled myself after riding Crush for the first time. The advertising and branding do not point out exactly what to expect although one should not underestimate what some kids can cope with or even thrive on.

Re: Great News!

I'm quite surprised, I really didn't find it, or indeed Spinball Whizzer, bad at all :S I think it's quite clear that's it's a coaster and all, I just didn't realise that the reaction was so negative. I suppose it's like 'Batman Returns', amazing but really not as kid-friendly as we're led to believe. I love 'Batman Returns'...guilty pleasure...mmm...

I rewatched Batman Returns recently. Not half as good as I remember...

It was the spinning that did it for me in Crush. I expected it but it was my first time on that type of coaster. There I was gripping onto the harness for dear life while NDJnr was waving his hands in the air and laughing for joy!

Re: Great News!

I suppose I haven't seen it a while, but you've made me worry I won't like it as much now hehe. I guess it depends, no attraction will be considered 'suitable' by everyone for one reason or another, ya can't say what kids'll like or won't like. For me it's a successful ride with too long a queue (unfixable problem) but I guess there's been alotta backlash.
