I think you're dreamin' there Xedex, unfortunately! If only there was a hope of moving Buzz Oh well. It's done now, and at least it's not too bad a ride (dreadful queue though).

Discoveryland is good on paper, but VERY few movies actually apply to that land meaning that most every ride would need to have an original theme for them to totally fit. The fact of the matter is, that land has too much of a specific theme.

Well they could easily adapt (if money where no object) both Soarin' and StormRider to the Discoveryland theme, but that's not going to happen any time soon.

I've never been on Buzz (I did saw vids of it and in my Book about DLP there lotts of pics of it) It does seen like a nice ride, still not Discovery but yeah...
I think they should try to do something bigger with the "20 000 leagues under the sea" movie/theme. They have a walktrough but I was really disapointed when I did it (There wasn't much to do/see, only the organ and squid were nice, the rest was dark and dusty) Oh course the can't do a Discovery mountain thing anymore but a Submarine voyage-ride somewere left on the autotopia track and behind Space Mountain could be nice (google maps shows that there is space for a showbuilding)
And as Hathaway Browne said, Storm riders could also fit (on the side of the lagoon for 20K?)

Not everything has to be based on a film! Besides, they have the "back section" where Star Tours/HISTA are, which they can get away with.

I actually like the idea of more 20000 Leagues stuff in Discoveryland. A distinct possibility with the rumoured remake...

Yeah not everything has to be movie related, but looking at DLP all the new thing were movie related (I really lik original stuff though) The only thing I gues was the "new Space Mountain" as original thing, and Motor stunt action show and RnR? (based on a band, not movie?) And for the movie related thing we had Buzz, new parade, the rest of the studios park.

For the back-area of ST and Hista, The olny building that is in the way is Pizza Planet! Google Maps the white building behind SM and Autotopia, I ate there and the place wasn't as Pizza Planet as I hoped (it was a big hall with some neon cirkel on the celing, and lotts of chairs and tables, and one big wall poster of The Toy Story "gang")
Maby they can do a Startours themed restaurant (left of ST) and than a 20K would fit.

There also is a free space for a new (original) Discovery-land ride at the opening of Discovery-land on the right hill (left hill is Buzz) (I read somewere that Ailien Encounter was supposed to go here, but when the "to scared part" from WDW came over the didn't buid it??) The could do a nice smaler atraction there, in all the consept art of Discovery-land there is a building at that space see !

Actually, the building across from Le Visionarium/Buzz was supposed to be a 20K-themed restaurant, sharing its kitchen facilities with the Plaza Gardens.

But an import from TDS (Storm Rider, Aquatopia, Journey to the Center of the Earth, ...) would certainly not be unwelcome in Discoveryland.

If only they had built Buzz where Hista is, nothing would have been lost quality-wise, and the visual theming of the land would not have been disrupted.

I didn't know that the 20K restaurant was supossed to go there, I though it was supossed to go inside Discovery Mountain. It indeed makes more sence to chare the kitchen facilities with the Plaza Gardens, because those 2 buildings are so close.
