Disney's Fast Pass is not free anymore !

According to the French board '' Disney Central Plaza '' Fastpass is finally moving a step forward .

Resort Guests from Disney's New York Hotel and Disneyland Hotel can now buy a VIP Fast Pass for a €100 per day per person . Of course for this price you have unlimited Fast Pass Access .

Hardly worth 100 Euros IMO.

And this is the first step on the slippery slope to Universal-style charges for FP. Oh well, it was bound to happen eventually.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Always sad when Disney goes out of their way to make those who can't afford to pay more second class citizens.

Well, at least the rich won't have to wait in line.

Well, for that price, I doubt it will be popular enough to annoy any of us.

That´s nasty! All the rich kidds get to go first. ANYTHING to make an extra Euro.
What´s next? Prostitutes on Mainstreet dressed as princesses?
Clean up the park instead of sucking money out of parents of the world. Disney should be more like Walt.

Although I'm sure this wasn't not DLP's reason for doing this, I bet this will dramatically shorten the stand-by queues for Fastpass attractions. In fact, a lot of people on the Disneyland boards have been wishing for this very thing. If that's any consolation...

But still, this would be very cheap of DLP if this is true.

Hmmm I kinda have to play devil's advocate here. I have to wonder why it is wrong to pay more for an extra service. This is similar to a bus service. You can either walk for free or take the bus and get to your destination quicker, but at a cost. Is that really a bad thing? I don't think so. It's a service you pay for.

And based on the OP this is only for guests staying at certain Disney hotels, which are guests already paying more for a higher experience. Saying this is unfair is like saying Magic Mornings are unfair too, or other benefits Disney hotel guests receive exclusively.

No one said a Disney experience is cheap. Disney theme parks are a premium experience for a premium cost. Paying extra for an express fastpass in my point of view is the same as paying more for a special tour.

Re: Disney's Fast Pass is not free anymore !

When one enters Disneyland that person leaves the outer world. Now there will be a second class visitors in the park. The will be the ones that get to go many times and do all rides as they wish and those that have to wait in line.
This system is not the same as the one used when paying for each ride or the fact that people staying in certain hotels get extra hours.

In Sweden we would call this:

Idiotisk ide!

It's not entirely true that the outside world is left behind. The restaurants don't cost the same money, and not everyone is handed the same souvenirs. Those with money will ALWAYS have a better time, better food.

I'm willing to see if this test results in a better atmosphere. I think paid FP makes a lot of sense. Universal's system works pretty well on a day by day basis, speaking as someone who only once paid for the Express passes but visits often in the standby lines.

True... Money rules the world. But why making it worse? ...and WHY in Disneyland??

This is not about toys in the stores or food in the parks, this about the rides. The rides are the main reason for a visit. I think they should adjust the fastpass system to make the crowds flow better in other ways than charging extra for it. They can make money and keep the calm in the park if they only use their imagination.

They want money and they know that alot of parents are willing to pay just to make thier kidds smile a bit more.

100 Euros to do what you want in Disneyland. That has a nasty smell to it.
