Re: Disneyland Resort Paris Third Gate

I can actually see a water park being built in the next 10 years or so. It would go well with a Disney Village expansion.

As long as it was well themed with no toon invasions, I'd be very pleased with it. Lava Lagoon would be perfect.

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris Third Gate

I think the resort as a whole would really benefit from the variety a water park would bring. It would give people much more incentive to stay in the Disney hotels.

This doesn't mean I don't want to see a 3rd Gate at some point in the future, of course, but Disney really need to sort out the problems with the first two before they get that far!

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris Third Gate

DLRP doesn't even have half a second gate. A 3rd gate is a long shot for Paris.

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris Third Gate

But once they've righted the wrongs at WDS, a third gate is certainly an option.

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris Third Gate

If they've righted the wrongs....apologies for my pessimism, but Toy Story y'know... Also, surely any contractual obligations etc. will have been significantly altered when the resort went, well, not exactly according to plan.

I always got the impression that Lava Lagoon was just going to have a dome slapped over it and that would be the end of it. An indoor water park could really be something else if the built environment supported the idea of an enclosed space.

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris Third Gate

I prefer the idea of a third gate to a waterpark. I'm not sure how well an indoor waterpark would work and know that I would much rather go to either current park than a glorified swimming pool.
I am not sure what the theme of a third park could be. I like the idea of something like Epcot with factual and educational attractions.
I remember going to Disneyland Paris with college and having lectures in a big tent behind Star Tours. I would make those kind of facilities more integral in the new park. A high tech education centre for themed talks that could be relevant to anything Disney.

I voted theme park. It be nice to have an Epcot or something along those lines.

Water park would be nice after a third park.

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris Third Gate

I'd prefer they bulldoze WDS and build a proper second gate...with a better layout and actual themed lands. Won't happen but...still nice to dream of it.

But if they had to build anything new, then the old Lava Lagoon concept art looks really nice, and such a waterpark would surely be a commercial success.

TASMAN, you have not been there. With the exception of the need for more theming, it is seriously better than DHS in WDW

I quite like Walt Disney Studios, even more now they have Crush and Tower of Terror. Yes the theme is weak to non-existent but I much prefer that to shoving things in main Disneyland that wouldn't fit. I can't see Crush's Coaster in any of the Lands in Disneyland park, nor Tower of Terror.

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris Third Gate

I want to know why people never request for a second magic kingdom style park. I mean, having an all-encompassing theme for one whole park will always restrict you. No-one ever complains that the Disneyland Park has no overall theme. I myself would love to have a second multiple land based park. Disney-sea is the closest that any non-magic kingdom park has got to this.

For a third gate, a multi land park woudl be cool. Could have a critter country section for splash mountain, country bears etc. An egyptian themed place with rollercoaster, dark-ride etc. Maybe even a mysterious island area a la DisneySea. I did, a few years ago, draw out a complete aerial view of my own third gate for DLRP....If i unearth it, I'll show you all.

I always wanted the same type of park, a second Magic Kingdom. With a water-based land, a 30's style city, a villains lair, a volcano, a polynesian village, a midevial village and even a Discovery Bay Land. Imaginative not one basic theme.

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris Third Gate

The reason is that it's been done! Why build something similar just expand the Disneyland park?
