Re: New Generation Festival logo, key visual revealed!

Looking at these images again it strikes me that they all ignore one major thing - 'Up'.

Surely Up deserved to be there? It has already shown legs in the US and is eagerly awaited (by me anyway) here in the UK. So why include characters from a movie released next February (The Princess and the Frog) and characters who are hardly 'of the moment' even if they are recognisable (Ratatouille, Monsters Inc)? Is it because Up will not be covered at DLP?

Other than the (excellent) balloon that was spotted hovering over DLP recently, Up does seem to be getting ignored. Is it because its unproven (its certainly more proven than The Princess and the Frog) or is it because a movie about an old man and a Korean boy scout is seen as being a tough marketing prospect (surely the same can be said for a gourmet rat?)?

My local Disney Store has got some limited Up merchandise in (I have alreday bought the Kevin puppet!) and I assume that DLP will follow suit if it hasn't done so already. But what of character presence in the parks? Will there be a meet and greet with Carl Fredrickson? Or a planned version of Soarin' where you sit inside Carl's house? If so - I'm first in line!

Well spotted. Obviously either ..

a] they don't think it will be a hit
or
b] they've not been given access to the stock images of Carl yet.

Indeed - a stock image that doesn't even look like he's floating/falling. Surely that particular poster was ripe to include Up?

Yep, and that is why when we go to Marriott in May, we may not actually go to DLP but enjoy the Ile de France instead.
