New Fast Pass System !
Disneyland Paris has too much troubles by giving away special blank Fast Passes and tons of issues with this . All FPs will get a whole new system . Except to insert your ticket in the Machine you ll have to swip your park ticket or scan if it has a bar code on it .
All machine will have both readers . Bar Codes or Cards swiping system . This system will be up next weekend and E Tickets printed at home Tickets will be read by the new system . Be sure to not wet your paper or lost it . I'll try to go to the parks on saturday and take picture of it . |

Re: New Fast Pass System !
So does the machine just issue a slip with the time slot on? And then the park ticket is scanned on redemption of the FP?

Re: New Fast Pass System !
the black thing on it is this where you've got to swipe your park ticket . The other thing on the left handside is for the E-Ticket . Disney doesn't want to give the white Park Replacement Ticket anymore because a lots of Cast Members forgot to give them that white Park Ticket Replacement to get a FP .

Re: New Fast Pass System !
I'm confused... what does this resolve? Didn't the FP machines always validate the ticket media in some sort before issuing a FP?
I don't understand how this resolves fake FPs... as they are the output of the machine, not the input. Previously did the machines not make you insert your ticket media to get a FP like the American parks? Thanks!

Re: New Fast Pass System !
Huh? Is this basically that you can use any type of ticket, regular, home-printed etc. with the machine? If so then, sure why not, as long as they don't change the well-themed FP dispensers.

Hi,
I think what this new system is trying to fix is the huge issue they had with previous motorized magnetic stripe card readers. The new system reads the ticket either via magnetic stripe (just like before, except now you have swipe the ticket through the magnetic reader) or via barcode reader (scanning the barcode from the printed ticket). When this is done the system has the system ticket code as it retrieved previously from the motorized reader. I guess the database system works just like before, checking this is an authorized ticket and marking the ticket with a "fastpass issued mark" in the db. It seems that after that point the FP is issued just like before according to the picture. In my trips to DLRP I experienced the crappy motorized reader issue quite a few times but I'm not 100% sure that a DIP reader (this is the technical name for the manual swipe readers) will entirely fix the problem. DIP readers fail to read if the customer doesn't swipe the cards at a steady pace, not too fast, not too slow... technology is much better now, but still prone to error. Of course DLRP is going to save a ton of money because the DIP readers maintenance is pretty low compared to the old motorized ones as there is no motors or movable parts that require maintenance from time to time. regards, imAg!
